COLLETON COMMERCIAL KITCHEN Kitchen Program Manager Colleton County is accepting applications for Kitchen Program Manager at the Colleton Commercial Kitchen. Colleton County Commercial Kitchen is a non-profit, full-service, shared use commercial kitchen and business incubator. The goal of Colleton County is to assist food entrepreneurs, primarily in becoming economically self-sufficient by providing: (1) a fully approved and equipped commercial kitchen they can use for the development and ongoing preparation of their business; (2) professional food industry technical assistance designed to improve their business operations, market penetration, profit, economic scale and sustainability; (3) access to new markets and (4) access to capital. Its mission is to help entrepreneurs grow successful food businesses and to create paths to business ownership. We do this by offering commercial kitchen rental at slidingscale rates and recipe development, product marketing and business scale-up. Colleton County is looking for a dynamic self-starter with a a food science background and a passion for entrepreneurship to manage the day-to-day administration of our Incubation Program. The Kitchen Program Manager will develop and deliver the services required to support the businesses in the incubation program. The Program Manager will also be responsible for the administrative tasks associated with operating the incubation program, such as recruiting, marketing, invoicing, budgeting and fund-raising. The Program Manager will also help deliver enterprise training to incubation members. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Incubator Kitchen Program Manager is a full-time, exempt position. Hours are Monday through Friday with possible night and weekend requirements. The Incubator Kitchen Program Manager is responsible for managing all office and facility operations. The position manages the administration and operation of Colleton County’s kitchen facility, including but not limited to: managing inventory of kitchen and cleaning supplies, scheduling equipment repair and maintenance, scheduling of tenant shifts, instruction of tenants on how to properly and safely use the kitchen equipment, enforcement of sanitary food handling methods and of kitchen use policies and procedures as well as all office and facility needs. This position is responsible for maintaining careful records in respect to events and fundraising/sponsorships. This position reports directly to the Museum and Farmers Market Director and will work closely with all members of Colleton County’s staff to coordinate their as well as volunteer efforts around events (both fundraising and program-related). JOB DUTIES Program Planning and Execution •
Work with all staff to prepare the annual program calendar as well as a budget for Colleton County’s programs including kitchen reservations, cooking classes, and other smaller events such as workshops and teambuilding events, etc.

Manage all sponsor relationships, ensuring budget targets are reached. This position is responsible for overlooking the budget expenditure and keeping it in check, never allowing it to exceed the allocated amount as well as for reporting on success/failure of all events in terms of attendance goals, budget goals, etc. Manage overall timeline and committees for all large events from planning through event execution to follow up. Determine roles of other staff and volunteers as necessary and communicate clearly around expectations – effective delegation is a key to success in this role. Lead committees, volunteers and other staff as well as participant businesses to ensure that every aspect of their tasks in both planning, the event, and follow up are clear and that everyone is on task. Coordinate marketing and communications for all events from social media to printed collateral In conjunction with staff and volunteers, provide Colleton County presence at partner events
Facility Operations and Maintenance • • • • • • • • • •
Specific duties include, but are not limited to; Operation and management of all equipment, facility, utility and general kitchen use Adherence to all city, state and federal requirements for commercial kitchen facilities Manage the scheduling system for the Colleton County Kitchen Incubator facility Manage relationships between all service providers and contractors involved in the facility and facility maintenance Manage and oversee janitorial staff and independent contractors Manage keycard system and access to building Responsible for training all users of the facility on operations, safety and maintenance Responsible for billing and maintaining client records Stay within budget for all kitchen and facility-related expenses
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: The ideal candidate needs to meet the following requirements: • • • • • • • •
Extensive knowledge of food chemistry and food science An ability to communicate personally and intimately with our program participants as well as an innate understanding or willingness to learn the Lowcountry regional food scene. Ability to communicate eloquently both orally and in writing. Be able to stay calm during emergencies, unexpected changes to event flow, etc. Highly organized with excellent time and space management skills. Be able to work under pressure, coordinating large numbers of people with grace and ease. Must be able to manage planning of multiple events at once as well as multiple tasks at once during events Knowledgeable in MS Excel, Word & Outlook

Education Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or related fields and/or extensive management experience (5 years minimum) in the Food Science or Culinary related field where these skills have been obtained. Willingness to complete required job-related certifications within 6 months of being hired. Compensation: • • •
