The most interesting characteristic of this method is that no two prints are alike. the beauty of this medium is its combination of printmaking, painting and drawing media.

materials

ink: vinyl, oil or watercolor

flat surface: something easy to clean like plexi-glass

printing paper

roller

art and craft materials: brush, marker, pencil

step one

preparation: prepare your surface, make sure it is ready to be used. make sure it is clean.

step two

outline: create the outline of your paper on the surface, use a marker or masking tape.

step three ink and paint: splash your ink on a container and use an object: marker, pencil or brush, anything that inspires you and starts painting your artwork. Get creative, use your hands instead of the classical art and crafts supplies. Use a hair brush? Use something unexpected or an object you are particularly attached to.

step four printing preparation: once you are happy with you design, it’s time to print! Get your paper ready and place it on top of your work.

step five

printing: once the paper is on top of the design, use the roller applying pressure. When the pressure is applied the ink will be transferred to the paper.

step six

finalising: Once you have run the roller over the paper, carefully remove the paper from the surface and set it aside to dry.
