Former La Salle University head women's volleyball coach Andrew Kroger has been named as the interim head volleyball coach at the University of North Alabama. He enters his first season at UNA as the Lions open the 2021 campaign and begin their fi nal year of transition to the NCAA Division I level.

Kroger, who has 11 years of Division I coaching experience, joined the La Salle program in 2014 as an assistant coach and was eventually promoted to associate head coach in 2018. He was named head coach of the program in 2019. He led La Salle to the 2019 National Invitational Volleyball Championship, which was the first post-season appearance in program history. Following

the 2021 spring season, La Salle dropped its volleyball program, along with six other sports.

While at La Salle, Kroger had three players named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team with a fourth rookie earning A-10 Rookie of the Week honors twice in 2017. He also served as acting head coach during head coach Caitlin Schweihofer's maternity leave in 2017, and helped the Explorers to their highest Atlantic 10 winning percentage in program history.

A 2011 graduate of Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, Kroger began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at Villanova University in fall of 2011. At Villanova, he worked primarily with the middle blockers and was also responsible for video analysis, tape exchange, as well as event management, team planning and statistics.

Prior to arriving at Villanova, Kroger was an assistant coach at Sycamore High School in Cincinnati and also coached at the Team Z Volleyball Club, where he was head coach for the 15 Navy and 15 Orange squads.

At Xavier, Kroger was the president of the men's club volleyball team and also played on the squad for three years.

Kroger follows former UNA head coach Bob White, who retired in June due to health concerns after three seasons with the Lions.
