Anne Marie Sam and her sister Lisa (right) – both of Fort St. James – along with Kaleigh Milinazzo (bottom right) of Burns Lake, are among the UNBC students profiled in a new series of videos about the UNBC experience. The videos, which are prominent on UNBC’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, are central to UNBC’s student recruitment activities this year. See them for yourself online: www.youtube.com/unbcnews.

More UNBC Courses UNBC offers academic courses online and Continuing Studies courses locally.
Last year, she was recognized for excellence among all nurses across Canada working on reserves. This year, UNBC grad Lisa Sam (top photo, left) is among the 40 northern healthcare practitioners profiled in a book, called Front Lines, about what it’s like to be involved with health care practice in northern and rural communities. The book was produced by the Northern Medical Program and proceeds from the sale are supporting the Northern Medical Programs Trust, which supports students who are participating in northern/rural clinical placements as part of their education.

Course availability is subject to change.
Allie Dickson of Burns Lake was the only UNBC student to participate in this year’s Canada Winter Games in Halifax. Allie’s best result was 17th out of 39 participants in Biathlon. The next Canada Winter Games will be in Prince George in 2015.
Medical Grads Vanderhoof has its first graduates from the Northern Medical Program. Now it’s on to residency before they are able to fully practice. Justin Frey will be in Prince George during his Family Practice residency and Byron Silver is aiming for a specialty in Opthamology.
