admission to Carolina Could this be you? Every year, we seek to build an entering class of students who together will make each other better, and Carolina and the world better, too. The qualities that describe our students are too numerous to list here, but it’s fair to say that our strongest applicants tend to be smart, hard-working, talented, collaborative, and kind. They also bring fresh ideas and diverse perspectives, and they inspire one another to do great things.

Next Steps: If you’re thinking about joining our community, we look forward to getting to know you in the coming months. Here are a few tips on how to best prepare yourself for the journey ahead: •

Continue to challenge yourself. Take advantage of college--level coursework at your school (such as AP, IB or dual enrollment), but don’t feel that you need to overload yourself either.

Follow your interests. Get involved in outside activities that are meaningful to you whether it’s playing an instrument or sport, working a part-time job or advocating for a cause that matters to you.

Get to know your teachers. Not only can they offer support when you need it, they can also speak to your contributions inside and outside the classroom via a letter of recommendation.

Check Us Out: Visit our campus to see if Carolina is right for you. From world-class libraries and athletic facilities to an excellent food and cultural scene, you’ll find plenty to discover in Chapel Hill.
