Located along the “Atlantic Flyway,” southeastern North Carolina is a haven for many different bird species. Join us to discover the birds of our region as we bird watch in some of our area’s great birding hotspots. Throughout this class students observe and learn how to identify spring migrants, backyard birds, shorebirds and resident songbirds during nesting season. You’ll soon be hooked on this lifelong hobby. Jill Peleuses is the owner of Wild Bird & Garden with stores in Wilmington and Southport. She leads birdwatching classes, walks and tours throughout southeastern North Carolina.

Feb. 16 Nesting Birds – Learn how to arrange your yard to attract a variety of nesting species. Understand how and where birds in our area nest. Feb. 23 Spring Migrants – Learn which species make their way into the area for the springtime and how they migrate.
