The pre-health program will prepare you to become a chiropractor, dentist, medical doctor, foot or eye doctor, physical or occupational therapist, pharmacist, physician assistant, speech therapist or veterinarian. Academic superiority (measured by GPA on a 4.0 scale) and excellent scores on admissions tests (MCAT, DAT, PCAT, GRE, etc.) are critical elements in any successful graduate application. BIRD'S EYE VIEW Find your way to UNCW because from here, you can go anywhere. Georgian-style architecture and beautiful landscaping make UNCW one of the most attractive college campuses in the South. The university’s main campus covers approximately 650 acres, much of them under the canopy of Longleaf and Loblolly pines and live oak trees, or dotted with seasonal color from crape myrtles and wildflowers. Seating and gathering areas are interspersed throughout the multitude of natural areas on campus, including nature trails and conservation areas such as the Herbert Bluethenthal Memorial Wildflower Preserve, which is frequently utilized for hands-on learning for students. Take a stroll on Chancellor’s Walk, lined with the buildings where most academic classes are held. The clock tower on the Campus Commons chimes on the hour and plays the university’s alma mater each day at noon and 5 p.m. You’ll find a great photo backdrop under the arches between Morton and Leutze Halls, or snap a selfie in front of the iconic Soaring Seahawk sculpture at Belk Plaza in front of Hoggard Hall. Welcome to Seahawk Country. We’re glad you’re here! UNCW offers free visitor parking in parking Lot M, located on Riegel Road, adjacent to Price Drive. Residential and non-residential options are available, visit uncw.edu/housing for more information. On-campus housing for transfer students is limited and not guaranteed, so apply early! Students interested in living off campus are encouraged to use Seahawk PERCH (uncw.edu/PERCH) as a resource.
