PREPARATORY PROGRAMS
Student success is a priority at UNF and it starts during the application process
Through two preparatory programs, prospective students who do not meet the minimum academic or language requirements can bridge the gap to earn a spot in their program of choice.
Graduate Foundation Program
This one-semester program offers applicants who do not meet the minimum academic entrance requirements for graduate programs an alternative pathway to their desired master’s program. Through the Graduate Foundation Program, students can complete three undergraduate courses to enhance their GPA.
English for Academic Purposes powered by TLG
Prospective students who do not meet the minimum English language requirements for direct entry into UNF programs can improve their language skills to qualify for admission through a program developed in partnership with The Language Gallery. The program focuses on improving English skills in academic writing, referencing, researching, note-taking, listening, summarizing and synthesizing texts, critical thinking, and speaking.

Undergraduate
For admission to one of our honours bachelor’s degrees, you must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent diploma with academic courses outlined below:
• Six Grade 12 4U or 4M-level courses, including ENG4U and a 4U Math
• Minimum overall grade average of 70% on best six courses
Applicants must meet English language proficiency requirements, if applicable.

Graduate
To qualify for graduate studies, you must have completed an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution equivalent to a fouryear bachelor’s in Canada with an academic performance outlined below:
• A cumulative GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.33 scale) or better.
For Master of Data Analytics, you must have the academic performance mentioned above and must have completed at least two undergraduate courses in statistics or quantitative methods (or equivalent).
Applicants must meet English language proficiency requirements, if applicable.

English is the exclusive and official language of instruction and examination at the University of Niagara Falls Canada.
Applicants whose first language is not English, or who have received their education in a language other than English, must provide evidence of English language proficiency at a university level by achieving a minimum English proficiency score in an approved test or qualifying for an exemption.

My push factor for pursuing a master’s degree was that I felt like I was missing something in my career.
I was good at the technical aspects of my role, but being able to manage people was something I believed I was lacking. I felt like I needed to further my education and I wanted to find a very good space to do that. I came to UNF for the Master of Management program and it has expanded my knowledge not just in the managing of people, but also in working as part of a team. I would give the program a 10 out of 10 because the knowledge base has been exceptional.

Canada Community Appreciation Entrance Award
All Canadian students admitted to UNF will be eligible to receive this award, disbursed partially each term throughout their academic program.

Academic scholarships
At UNF, your best is rewarded! These scholarships are based on your academic performance during your university studies and are available starting in Term 2 of your program.
Academic Merit List
$500 per academic term if you maintain an 80% CPGA or A- in your program, term over term.
President’s Academic Distinction List
$1,000 per academic term, if you maintain a 90% CPGA or A+ in your program, term over term.
Award disbursement will begin after the registration period has closed in Term 1 of a student's program. For a student to remain eligible and receive award funding, they must maintain a good academic standing according to their program’s specific grading scheme.

Transfer and mature students
Whether you’re looking to restart or advance your education, discover a new chapter in your life at the University of Niagara Falls Canada. Our supportive environment and adaptable programs offer pathways to help you continue your educational journey.
Transfer students
Students who have studied at an accredited college or university, or who are currently studying at one, may be reviewed for admission based on their post-secondary studies. Credits will be assessed for transfer at time of admission.
Mature student admission
Applicants who do not otherwise qualify for admission but demonstrate academic abilities equivalent to those of Ontario high school graduates, verified through completion of an approved equivalency test, can apply as mature students if they meet the following requirements:
To qualify they need to have:
• Completed at least 24 credit hours of academic post-secondary credits
• Have a minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) or C average
• Be over 19 years of age on or before the first day of classes
• Have not achieved the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or its equivalent
• Be approved by the Registrar
Adult and continuing education admission
Applicants completing an OSSD graduation program from an Ontario Accredited Adult and Continuing Education program will be considered for admissions based on the following general requirements:
• Senior secondary school credential equivalent to the OSSD (i.e., appropriate for entry to university in their home country) with an academically rigorous final year and a minimum overall average of 70% or equivalent on the local grading scale.
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
• ENG4U and 1 4U Math (or a Grade 12 Math taken during their high school program in their home country)
• OLC4O (with a grade of 70% or higher)
