Robin Confer Head Coach | Fifth Season The 2018 season will be the fifth under the direction of head women’s soccer coach Robin Confer. In her first four seasons at the helm, Confer has guided the Ospreys to fourstraight ASUN Conference Tournament appearances, including the program’s first home postseason contest since 2010 in her first year. In 2017, UNF enjoyed its most successful season (9-6-1) since posting nine wins in 2011. During her tenure, North Florida has produced seven All-ASUN honorees along with eight ASUN All-Freshman selections highlighted by Thais Reiss garnering ASUN Freshman of the Year in 2018. Her guidance has also led to an ASUN All-Academic Team member, a Capital One Academic All-District selection, a NSCAA Academic All-Region honoree and an United Soccer Coaches All-Region Selection. In the classroom, her teams garnered three consecutive Team Academic Awards annually presented by the National Collegiate Soccer Association of America. In her four seasons, Confer’s team’s boasted a team GPA above 3.2. In addition, Jennifer Marzi became the first Osprey to take home Atlantic Sun Academic All-Conference, NSCAA Academic All-Region and Capital One Academic All-District honors in the same season. Confer came to UNF following a nine-year stint as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Georgia. The 1997 National Player of the Year, Confer was also a part of three national champions as a record-setting forward at the University of North Carolina. During her tenure at Georgia, Confer helped develop a potent offensive attack that consistently outscored its opponents and produced players that broke a number of Bulldog offensive records. In addition, she was able to attract top-tier recruits to UGA resulting in nationally-ranked recruiting classes including a No. 12 rank for the 2013 class.
Prior to her time at UGA, Confer served as an assistant coach at Florida State helping guide the Seminoles to a 29-13-4 record during her tenure including the program’s first College Cup appearance in 2003. Confer’s coaching career also includes stops as an assistant coach at Mississippi State and Texas A&M. While working with coach G. Guerieri at TAMU, the Aggies reached the NCAA Sweet 16 in back-toback seasons. Her first collegiate coaching experience came as a volunteer assistant under legendary coach Anson Dorrance at her alma mater, North Carolina.

A four-year starter for the Tar Heels (199497), Confer helped UNC to national championships in 1994, 1996 and 1997. She was named National Player of the Year by Soccer News and SoccerBuzz as a senior, while also garnering Most Valuable Offensive Player of the NCAA Final Four in 1997. A first-team All American, Confer was a finalist for the Hermann Award, recognizing the nation’s top collegiate soccer athlete. She finished her Carolina career ranked among the all-time scoring leaders finishing with 77 goals and 55 assists.

Confer played in every game of her collegiate career and still holds an NCAA record having played in 107 games. She is one of just 11 former Tar Heel players with their jersey retired. Confer was also named to the Atlantic Coast Conference’s (ACC) 50th Anniversary Women’s Soccer team recognizing the league’s Top 50 players.

A former captain of the U.S. U-20 Youth National team, she made her Women’s National Team debut on Jan. 18, 1996, against Ukraine and was a member of the pool from 1996-99, earning eight caps and one goal. In 2001, Confer was drafted in the fifth round of the Global Draft by the WUSA’s Boston Breakers. A native of Clearwater, Fla., Confer was a standout at Clearwater Central Catholic High School finishing her prep career with 227 goals including 80 in her senior season. She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science from UNC in 1998.

Eric Faulconer
Associate Head Coach | Second Season Eric Faulconer joined the North Florida women’s soccer sideline in 2017 after 12 seasons at the helm of the Armstrong State University women’s soccer program. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach for the Ospreys in 2018.
He led the Night Hawks to the NAIA National Championships in 2003, also earning NSCAA Region Coach of the Year honors, and the last three seasons his Thomas squad was ranked nationally in the NAIA.
The Armstrong soccer program and the athletic department were eliminated due to consolidation with Georgia Southern University. In 12 seasons at ASU, Faulconer compiled a 172-54-23 record for the Pirates, leading them to the NCAA Championships nine times, earning three Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament titles, two NCAA Southeast Region titles and advancing to the DII Final Four in 2011. His overall record stands at 24098-29 in 18 seasons. He currently ranks in the Top 20 in NCAA Division II’s all-time coaching winning percentage at .694. Throughout his 18-year collegiate coaching career, he has been named the NSCAA Region Coach of the Year six times.
In addition to his coaching duties, Faulconer served as the Interim Athletic Director at Armstrong State University from April 1-July 1, 2009 while also serving as the NSCAA National Chair of NCAA Division II Women (2014-2017), the NSCAA National Advocacy Committee College Coaches Representative (2015-2017) and the Region Chair of NSCAA Southeast Ranking Committee (2011-2013).
Faulconer was tabbed to start the Armstrong State women’s soccer program in 2005 after a successful stint at Thomas University, where he also built the Night Hawks program from scratch, beginning in 1999.
Born in New Jersey, Faulconer’s family moved to Naples, Florida, in 1979. He graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1992 and a master’s degree in public administration in 1996, with additional graduate course work in sports administration. He holds a USSF National B License. Eric and his wife, Ginger, have two sons, Zachary and Ethan.

Devin Zvosec Assistant Coach | Second Season Devin Zvosec joined the UNF women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach in March of 2017. He was promoted to recruiting coordinator for the Ospreys in April of 2018. Prior to his arrival at North Florida, Zvosec served one season as a graduate assistant coach at Ole Miss. He also spent part of a spring season assisting the women’s soccer program at Arkansas State. Before ASU, Zvosec spent a year as an assistant coach at Georgia Southwestern State University for the men’s soccer team. During his tenure he helped mentor Hurricanes’ goalkeeper Garrett Blamire to a Peach Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Week award, the first player in Georgia Southwestern history to earn a weekly award. Under Zvosec’s tutelage, Blamire ranked among the top-10 in the Peach Belt in saves, saves per game and saves percentage, while the Hurricanes as a whole ranked near the top of the league in saves and saves percentage. In addition to his duties with the goalkeepers, Zvosec assisted in serving as the team’s academic liaison and helped five member of the Georgia Southwestern team reach Peach Belt Conference All-Academic status.
Prior to his time in Georgia, Zvosec served as an assistant coach at Rogers State University with the women’s soccer program where he worked with the defensive backline and implemented a summer lifting and fitness program. Zvosec also helped manage the team’s social media sites and helped monitor the alumni database for the program. Zvosec played professionally with the St. Louis Lions of the USL Premier Development League where he helped his team to a second place finish in the Heartland Division PDL. The Lions advanced to the semifinals of the USL-PDL playoffs. Zvosec played collegiately at Johnson County Community College where he earned All-Region VI and All-KJCCC Second-Team honors as a sophomore. He then transferred to Rogers State where he logged the second most minutes on the team in each of his last two seasons. He earned his degree from Rogers State in Sport Management and earned All-Heartland Conference President’s Honor Roll accolades in each of his two seasons. He holds the NSCAA Level Two Goalkeeper License. No stranger to UNF, Zvosec’s father, Rich, was the first head men’s basketball coach for the Ospreys from 1992-97 (five seasons).
