AN OSPREY WIN WOULD...
-Give UNF its first-ever win against a Power Five team. -Make 2-2 on the road this season. -Give the Ospreys their first win against an SEC team.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
Jazz Bond and Emma Broermann have a combined five double-doubles this season.
Bond paces the way with three while Broermann has a pair. Bond ranks first in the league in that category and Broermann is fifth.
FIZZLE SIZZLE
Known as Fizzle per her social media alias, Jazz Bond sizzled last week, averaging 25.5 points and 11 rebounds per game to earn her fifth-career ASUN Player of the Week honor. The forward poured in 31 points and went 9-for-10 from the FT line, scoring 12 points in OT as UNF defeated FAU, 85-79.
Bond put up 23 points at Clemson and 13 points and nine rebounds in the win at Charleston. The forward moved into third in UNF's total-points chart (1,280), moving past UNF Hall of Famer and former women's basketball coach, Nancy Miller.
She is now tied for sixth in UNF history for three-point field goals made at 123, and is five from moving into fifth. She's also tied for fourth in UNF history for total rebounds (650) and surpassed Larkira Jones for first in the UNF DI-era in defensive rebounds with 491.
HOMECOMING
Graduate student Rhetta Moore, a Charleston, S.C., native, balled out in front of family and friends last week in games at Clemson and Charleston. A walk-on, and Clemson fan growing up, Moore poured in 29 points on 12-for-16 from the floor at Clemson.
She followed that up with a 15-point, 5 rebound, 7 assist, 2 steal and 1 block day in at the TD Arena in downtown Charleston, a familiar place for her.
EVERYBODY SCORES
Five Ospreys put up double-digit scoring days in the win at Charleston. Nubia Benedith and Tatiana Thompson tied career highs with 14 points apiece, Emma Broermann tallied a 17-point and 11-rebound double-double, Jazz Bond added 13 points and Rhetta Moore scored 15.
FEAR THE SEABIRD OF PREY
We are the Ospreys - which is Os-PRAYS - not Os-PREES, as in the candy.
