Gail Goodspeed, now in her 35th season as the UNH head coach, has helped create one of the strongest programs in New England. The Wildcats have a tradition of sustained success as a top-tier team in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) and a perennial competitor in the NCAA Regional Championship while maintaining rigorous academic standards among the highest in the nation. Goodspeed has guided the Wildcats to four ECAC Championships, appearances in 33 NCAA Regional Championships and two AIAW Regional Championships (prior to NCAA sponsorship) while building a 534-288-2 record. The ‘Cats won the 1994 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship and competed at the NCAA Championship in Salt Lake City, Utah. UNH finished that season as the 12th-ranked team in the country. In addition to the team qualification to the national championship, individuals have represented UNH at the national championship 11 different times during Goodspeed’s tenure. In 2013 Goodspeed guided sophomore Kayla Gray, senior Austyn Fobes and junior Hannah Barile to individual berths at the NCAA Morgantown Regional, hosted by West Virginia University. Gray won the East Atlantic Gymnastics League’s balance beam individual title courtesy of a 9.875 at the EAGL Championship, hosted by the University of North Carolina. In the process, the native of Buffalo, N.Y., became the first Wildcat to win an outright beam championship since Mariana Peña-Trestini in 2006. The Wildcats garnered the NCAA Public Recognition Award based on a perfect 1,000 Academic Progress Rate (2008-09 to 2011-12). Gray, the team’s Katie Baldwin Academic Excellence award recipient, recorded a perfect 4.00 GPA to earn NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors; she headlined UNH’s cumulative 3.3186 GPA, which ranked 36th nationally and third among New England schools, behind only Brown and Yale. Goodspeed’s successful track record includes five NCAA Northeast Region Head Coach of the Year awards, most recently in 2008. Previous honors were bestowed in 1991, 1994, 2001 and 2003, when she was also named the EAGL Coach of the Year. Several of Goodspeed’s athletes and teams have been part of UNH history-making performances. In 2006, senior captain Amanda Hall was the Northeast Regional Floor Champion and took third in the all-around. This qualified her for the NCAA National Championship, making her the seventh individual from UNH to earn such high honors. At the Championship, her score of 9.8 on vault narrowly missed qualifying her as an All-American. During the 2005 campaign, Amanda Hall and Mariana Peña Trestini scored a 9.975 on the floor exercise in the regular season, setting the new UNH record. In 2005 postseason action, Vanessa Berrios shared the Northeast Regional Balance Beam title with a score of 9.85, earning her a spot at the NCAA National Championship as the sixth individual to represent UNH. The 2003 Wildcats captured their first-ever EAGL Championship with a UNH school-record team total of 196.75. At the same competition, Tara Phillips vaulted perfectly, scoring her first ever 10.0, permanently etching her name among the University’s alltime greats.
“It has always been our goal to help each studentathlete strive to reach her full potential and accomplish this in a positive atmosphere. When this occurs, the team is successful and it’s fun for everyone,” Goodspeed states. Goodspeed earned a doctorate from the School of Education at Boston University in 1984. She has used this education to enhance the quality of the experience of practicing and competing. Her dissertation involved development and implementation of a comprehensive sport psychology program for female gymnasts. Aspects of the program are incorporated into the training plan at UNH. “We try to focus on those things over which we have control, including our own response to and perception of stressful situations. Training is intense and our team members are dedicated to each other and to the goal of achieving excellence,” Goodspeed says. Much of the strength and success of the UNH gymnastics program lies with the stability and dedication of the coaching staff. Goodspeed is married to associate head coach Ed Datti (33rd year/31st full time), and together, with additional assistants and support staff, they have developed one of the most respected programs in the Northeast. A collegiate competitor from 1970-74 at Springfield College, Goodspeed captained the team her senior year and was a member of two AIAW National Championship teams. She was assistant coach for her alma mater in 1974-75 when the team placed 4th at the National Championship. Goodspeed was inducted into the Springfield College Hall of Fame in October 2002. She has served as treasurer of the National Coaches Association and served on the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Committee. She was head coach of California State-Northridge for two years and was also a business manager and coach at the Montvale Gymnastics Club. Goodspeed holds a master’s degree from Springfield and earned a doctorate in Sports Psychology from Boston University. She and Ed have two daughters, 24-year-old Samantha and 20-year-old Brianna. Samantha graduated summa cum laude from Keene State College with a degree in Environmental Studies in May 2011. She was a four-year member of the Keene State volleyball team and captain for the last two seasons. Her Owls won the 2010 ECAC Tournament for the first time in school history. Brianna is a junior at the University of Connecticut, where she is enrolled in the environmental engineering honors program and is a libero and co-captain for the Huskies volleyball team. As a senior at Oyster River High School, she was the class valedictorian and was named the 2010 Division II Player of the Year for the second straight season after serving as the star libero and helping the Bobcats claim their first state championship since 1996. Goodspeed is a native of Kohler, Wis.
2014 UNH Gymnastics team guide Ed Datti is in his 33rd year with the program, 31st as a full-time coach, in 2013-14. The associate head coach is known as one of the top assistants nationally. In 2012, he was named the EAGL Assistant Coach of the Year (with assistant coach Jess Kelley) for the second time in his career and the NCAA Northeast Regional Assistant Coach of the Year (with Kelley) for the ninth time in his career. He previously garnered the NCAA Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 1991, ‘94, ‘97, 2001, ‘03, ‘06, ‘08 and ‘10; his previous EAGL Assistant Coach of the Year merit came in 2010. Datti is highly respected by his colleagues for his skills as a strong technical coach and outstanding spotter. UNH head coach Gail Goodspeed states: “Obviously, I am a little biased, but Ed is one of the best spotters in the nation. He can anticipate when a gymnast is in need of assistance and can react faster than seems possible. He also has the unique ability of knowing exactly how much assistance is needed. A great balance is created with his technical expertise and spotting ability to help all of our team members continue to improve and upgrade their skills.” At UNH, Datti is responsible for the majority of the recruiting and continues to bring top gymnasts to the UNH campus. He is the director of a highly successful summer camp and initiated a community class program. Datti also co-teaches a movement and gymnastics exploration class for the kinesiology department. Datti is the former owner and head coach of the Montvale School of Gymnastics in Woburn, Mass. This was one of the first private gymnastics schools in Massachusetts and he coached several top USGF gymnasts during the 10 years of operating the club. Before his Montvale affiliation, Datti taught at Saxonville Elementary School in Framingham (Mass.) and coached the Framingham South High School girls gymnastics team. A 1971 graduate of Springfield (Mass.) College, Datti was a four-year competitor on the gymnastics squad. In his senior year, he was team captain and earned All-America honors in floor exercise. He is originally from Framingham, Mass.

Work Today, Conquer Tomorrow Ali Carr, who was a Wildcat senior co-captain and team MVP in 2012, joined the UNH coaching staff as assistant coach in June 2013. After graduating from UNH with a degree in Kinesiology: Sport Studies in 2012, Carr spent a year coaching at Broderick Gymnastics in Hyde Park, Mass., under the tutelage of 1994 UNH alum Karen (Olsson) Broderick, who helped guide the ‘Cats to the 1994 NCAA Championship meet. Carr, a four-year member of the UNH gymnastics team, was feted as team MVP following a 2012 season in which she earned a place on the All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Second Team on vault and balance beam and garnered EAGL All-Tournament Second Team honors on vault and uneven bars. The Chelmsford, Mass., native sported the Wildcats’ top vault mark in 11 of 13 meets, highlighted by first-place scores in four straight meets from Jan. 1-Feb. 10. She compiled a 9.830 Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) to rank eighth in the Northeast Region and tie for 10th in EAGL competition. Her previous All-EAGL awards include First Team on bars (’09) and vault (’11) and Second Team on bars (’11). She secured a place on the EAGL All-Tournament Second Team on bars in both ’09 and ’11. As a sophomore in 2010, Carr scored a career-high 9.950 on bars in a home victory against Brown (Feb. 12) to equal UNH’s all-time high mark on that apparatus with Olsson and Mariana Peña Trestini (Austyn Fobes tied the score in 2011). Carr’s other career highs are 9.875 on vault and a 9.900 on beam.
Ali Carr
Carr becomes the first UNH alumnae to join the Wildcats’ coaching staff since Jana (Reardon) Mowers (1998-99).
COACHING HISTORY 1st season at UNH EDUCATION UNH ‘12 BS
Volunteer Assistant Courtney Connors, a 2013 graduate of UNH, enters the 2014 season as a volunteer assistant coach. Connors will assist the coaching staff with training, choreography, meet preparation and administrative duties. She will also partner with fellow volunteer assistant coach Austyn Fobes as the voices of the meet broadcasts on UNHWildcats.tv. Connors, a two-time co-captain of the Wildcats, had a decorated career as a member of the gymnastics team. The New York native was a four-time NACGC/W Scholastic All-American selection and a three-time member of the EAGL All-Academic Team. As a freshman, sophomore and junior, Connors competed at the NCAA Regionals. As a junior, Connors received the Most Inspirational Award after rallying from an injury that sidelined her for three meets in the middle of the season. She came back to compete in the final eight meets of the season, including at the NCAA Regionals. As a senior, Connors repeated as co-captain of the squad and was inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society.

2014 UNH Gymnastics team guide Dan Sedory serves as the athletic trainer for the UNH gymnastics team. He is in his 26th season with the gymnastics squad and is an integral member of the coaching staff. Sedory, a Pittsburgh native, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Physical Education (1982) and received his Masters in Athletic Training from the University of Arizona (1984). Sedory is currently a clinical associate professor of athletic training at UNH. Since 1988 he has also served as the curriculum director for athletic training within the University’s department of kinesiology. With Sedory’s extensive work and commitment to enrichment, it has earned the distinction of being a CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Program. In 2006, he was honored for his contributions by receiving the “Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award” from NATA, awarded to role models for future leaders in the athletic training profession. This award came shortly after Sedory was named New Hampshire’s Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer of the Year for 2006. Also on his list of accolades is the NATA Athletic Trainer Service Award, which he received in 2001. Sedory served as an athletic trainer for the United States Olympic Committee Medical Staff at the U.S. Olympic Festival in Los Angeles in 1991 and with the Summer World University Games in 1993. He also served as the host athletic trainer for the World Gold Gymnastics tour appearance in Durham in 1996. The Wildcats are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and well-respected athletic trainer on their coaching staff. “Dan has more experience as an athletic trainer for women’s gymnastics than anyone,” UNH head coach Gail Goodspeed states. “He knows the sport and the athletes. One of his greatest strengths is his ability to truly listen to our gymnasts and care about them as individuals.”

The department works out of two locations – the Field House and the Whittemore Center. Both athletic training rooms utilize currently available modalities, including muscle stimulators, ultrasound, heat, cryotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
The athletic training room is considered to be “a designated facility where comprehensive health care services are provided. Comprehensive health care services include practice and game preparation, injury/illness evaluation, first aid and emergency care, follow-up care, rehabilitation and related services.” (National Athletic Trainer’s Association Education Council). The University has two athletic training rooms in use, one at the Whittemore Center Arena, which primarily serves the Wildcat hockey, field hockey and lacrosse teams, and one in the Field House, which is the headquarters of UNH Athletic Training. All of the athletic training facilities utilize the currently available modalities, including muscle stimulators, ultrasound, heat, cryotherapy and hydrotherapy. The athletic training rooms also serve as the primary site for all post-injury rehabilitation. Recently, the athletic training room has been renovated over the winter break of the 2012-13 academic year. With a redesigned layout, energy efficient lighting and state-of-the art equipment, the athletic training room is more comfortable, enjoyable and efficient for student-athletes and staff.
The Certified Athletic Trainer provides a myriad of services to the department and the student-athlete. These include, but are not limited to, initial injur y assessment and management, emergency injury/illness management, referral to appropriate professionals, interface with associated physicians and others, rehabilitation, counseling, administrative duties, including insurance coordination, supervision of practices and games, development and implementation of emergency plans, as well as student athletic trainer supervision.

Practice Facility
The practice facility, which allows the UNH gymnasts to train and perform at the highest level, is heralded as one of the safest and most efficient training spots in New England. The UNH coaching staff has worked hard to ensure that the 8,500 square foot gymnasium has been well maintained and updated to meet the highest standards. The loose foam and solid foam pits, the two tumble tracks, the overhead spotting rigs, a rod tumbling strip, and all of the most updated gymnastics apparatus and matting make this a facility that continues to attract top-notch athletes. Recently, the coaching staff added an instant view playback system for all four events. This allows immediate feedback and enhances the training for the visual learner. During the Holiday break in December 2010, facility lighting was upgraded to further enhance safety while providing a more energy-efficient system. All the necessary tools are in place for the best collegiate gymnasts in the country to train and continue to learn new skills. Two sites play host for the home gymnastics competitions, Lundholm Gymnasium and the Whittemore Center Arena. The Whittemore Center, which seats over 6,000 fans for gymnastics, is the host site for the 2014 EAGL Championship meet. Previously, the Whitt has been the host site of the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship and the 2003 EAGL Championship, as well as the Fox Run Invitational. Lundholm Gymnasium, which is the home arena for the Wildcats’ regular season, seats approximately 2,500 fans for gymnastics. In 2010, Lundholm Gym was the host site for the EAGL Championship. The UNH gymnastics program continues to expand and improve its training and competitive facility with its commitment to excellence. In 1994, one of the first groups to work all four years in the training facility won the ECAC conference championship, placed first in the NCAA Regional Championship and went on to qualify for the NCAA National Championship, ranking 12th in the country. The team has continued its strong tradition of excellence and set a team and conference scoring record in 2003 with a total team score of 196.750 while winning the EAGL Championship.

Regionals: The top 36 teams based on the Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) will be selected for the regional championships. A regional meet - consisting of six teams and five all-around competitors (who are not already on one of the six qualifying teams) and one individual specialist per event (who has a minimum RQS of 9.4) - is conducted in each of the six regions to determine the national championship participants. To obtain the RQS, each team selects its top six team scores with at least three of those scores from away meets, tossing out the highest score and averaging the remaining five. The top-18 teams are seeded on a national basis, based on their respective RQS. Teams seeded 19-36 are organized into three pods (19-24, 25-30 and 31-36) and placed geographically at one of the six regional sites, beginning with teams 19-24 followed by teams 25-30 and then finally teams 31-36. All-around competitors and event specialists are assigned to their respective geographic region or the designated site for their region. Attention also will be given to conference rematches and/or rankings. Nationals: The national championship consists of 12 teams and 12 all-around competitors. The top two teams and the top two all-around winners from each regional meet will receive an automatic berth to the national championships. In addition, each event winner may advance to the national championship (in that event only) if she is not already part of an advancing team or an all-around qualifier. Work Today, Conquer Tomorrow
2013 Review/2014 Preview
The 2014 Wildcat gymnastics team is ready to attack this season with confidence and pride as it fights for every stuck landing, every hit handstand and every last tenth. The Wildcats are full of spirit and positive energy going into this season. This year’s team motto is “Work Today, Conquer Tomorrow” and that’s exactly what they have been doing since the year began. Seniors Hannah Barile and Erin Machado will lead the team this year as co-captains. Barile worked harder than ever last summer, making sure her senior year will be one to remember. She returns with solid routines on vault, bars and floor. Hannah’s aggressive summer training allowed her to increase her difficulty and has given her the confidence to dominate. She is known for her unique vault, a piked Quervo, which has amazing height and a dynamic landing (PB 9.825), as well as her explosive tumbling, which has made her a strong member of the Wildcats’ floor lineup (PB 9.875). In addition, Hannah will seek to prove herself on bars this season as she works to perfect her routine (PB 9.825). Machado suffered a minor setback this fall, but will return on both beam and floor with drive and determination. Erin has continued to prove her consistency and ability to score on floor over the last three years (PB 9.85). She will fight for a spot in the beam lineup and push the team to step it up (PB 9.8). Jannelle Minichiello plans on attacking her senior year in all four events. She will settle back into the beam (PB 9.9), floor (9.875) and bars (PB 9.8) lineups and establish herself as a major contributor. In addition, Jannelle has been training to break into the vaulting lineup to secure herself a spot as an all-around competitor. Rounding out the senior class, Jilllian Hudson has returned this year from a season-ending injury in 2013. Jillian is on track to get back into the vault lineup (PB 9.85) and make the most out of her senior

campaign. Her upbeat and positive attitude radiates through the gym, driving other Wildcats to work their hardest. The junior class will return with fire and determination. Known for her grace and talent, Kayla Gray will take the stage on bars, beam and floor. She holds the honor of being the anchor on beam, with rhythm and balance that is unmatched on this event. Kayla will hold the attention of the audience as she performs her floor routine with flawless execution. Erika Rudiger combines power and speed as she dominates floor and vaulting. Her fierce attitude and sharp competitive edge make her an unstoppable force. In addition, her solid and aggressive swing on bars has enabled her to up her difficulty this season. Adrienne Hill, returning from an injury that cost her the entire 2013 season, is ready to prove herself. She will make her 2014 debut on vault and beam as she explodes off the vaulting table and sticks every skill on beam. Her ability to remain calm and controlled works to her advantage. The sophomore class returns strong and deep. Leading the class, Kelsey Aucoin looks to return from last year’s injury with a bang! She will fight for an anchor spot on vaulting and balance beam. Her ability to perform will capture the crowd’s attention and so will her scores. Kelsey has beautiful lines and knows how to stick a landing. Following close behind are Catarina Broccoli and Lauren Brodie, who each look to secure a lineup spot on bars, beam and floor. Catarina’s ability to tumble across the beam with ease will impress the crowd. Her expression and powerful tumbling will keep her in the fight for floor lineup. Lauren has worked extremely hard to come back from last season’s ankle injury. She will excel the most on bars and floor. Lauren also knows how to perform a floor routine that draws everyone’s attention. She knows how to have fun with it! Brittany Prestia provides depth on
vault, beam and floor. She will be fighting her way into those lineups as she focuses on clean form and execution. Cassy Izzo has been training primarily beam and floor this season. Her best event is beam, as she knows how to hit full splits and stick her landing. Elissa Solomon has spent the fall rehabbing from a two-month ankle injury. She is getting stronger every day and hopes to come back this season better than ever. Courtney Thompson continues to improve on a daily basis in her bid to return to full health and add depth to the bar lineup. Five fantastic gymnasts join the Wildcats this year. The freshman class is loaded with talent and enthusiasm. Jessica Gracia will be a key competitor on all four events for the Wildcats this year. Her clean lines and sharp execution will secure top scores. Jessica shines brightest on bars with a high-flying Geinger, and on beam with a three-element flight series. Meghan Pflieger is another amazing talent joining the freshman class; her ability to perform will amaze the crowd. Meghan is rock solid on balance beam with unique skill combinations that will impress. Her power and speed on vault and floor will also dramatically help those events. Jennifer King brings such positivity to the team with her upbeat attitude and impeccable work ethic. All she needs is some competitive experience to shine on balance beam and vaulting. Jennifer will fight for a spot in the bar lineup and the beam lineup. Kaylor Kelley has been recovering from a few injuries this past summer and
2014 UNH Gymnastics team guide early year. When she gets back into training, Kaylor will be unstoppable on balance beam and floor. Her grace and flawless choreography will make a huge impact on those events. Olivia Bogaczyk joined the program early in the season. The Granite State native, who will specialize on bars, was high school teammates with sophomore Courtney Thompson at Pinkerton Academy. This year’s competitive schedule bounces back and forth between home and away meets for most of the year. The season opener will take the Wildcats to New Brunswick, N.J. to face EAGL rival Rutgers University on January 11 at 1 p.m. The team will then enjoy the comfort of Lundholm Gymnasium for the UNH Invitational against No. 14 University of Minnesota, Brown University and Yale University on January 19 at 1 p.m. Then it’s on the road again, off to face another EAGL rival -- the University of Pittsburgh -- on January 25 at 1 p.m. The first weekend of February will bring EAGL opponent and 24th-ranked University of Maryland to Durham for a 1 p.m. competition Feb. 1. Our Wildcat gymnasts will then road trip to New Haven, Conn., to face Yale on February 8 at 1 p.m. The next competition, on February 15, is a tri-meet that will find Centenary College and Brown University in town for a 4 p.m. meet. The next two weekends will take the ‘Cats to face EAGL rival Towson University and the College of William & Mary at Towson on February 22 at 7 p.m. This is followed by another tri-meet against EAGL rivals George Washington University and Maryland on March 3 at G.W.U (7 p.m.). The next weekend in March will bring the Wildcats back home for a quad-meet against No. 15 Penn St. University, George Washington and Bridgeport University on March 8 at 4 p.m. The final weekend of regular-season competition has two meets back to back! The first is a home competition against U.S. Air Force Academy at 7 p.m. Friday, March 14. Then, on Sunday, March 16, the team travels to face EAGL rival North Carolina State at 2 p.m. The EAGL Championship will be hosted by the Wildcats this year at the Whittemore Center on March 22 at 2 p.m. The last time the Whitt was the host site was 2003, which was also the only time the ‘Cats captured the EAGL title. To repeat history, UNH will have to top George Washington, Maryland, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Towson. The six NCAA Regional meets are April 5: Fayetteville Regional (Arkansas); Athens Regional (Georgia); Minneapolis Regional (Minnesota); Baton Rouge Regional (LSU); State College Regional (Penn State) and Seattle Regional (Washington). The NCAA National Championship will be hosted by University of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala., April 18-20.

Work Today, Conquer Tomorrow
Wildcats To Watch Vault The 2014 vault squad will add some new faces to the lineup as well as see some returnees with solid skills. Yurchenko full and Yurchenko ½ vaults dominate the NCAA ranks; however, UNH has a couple of different vaults to entertain the audience. Depth continues to be an issue on this event and the squad is training to increase difficulty for returnees and newcomers alike. Hannah Barile competes a piked Quervo (front handspring, half twist back pike salto off). This unique vault is deceivingly difficult and last season Hannah qualified to NCAA Regionals on this event. Hannah has the height and distance to score with this vault when she sticks the landing. SV=10.0 Meghan Pflieger has a dynamic and consistent Yurchenko full (round off onto the board, back handspring, back layout full). Expect her to be a standout on this event. SV=10.0 Kelsey Aucoin redshirted last year and will compete a Yurchenko full that shows why she was greatly missed in 2013. Her execution is great and she needs to stick her vault to contribute all she can. SV=10.0 Adrienne Hill is back and the team is excited to have her Yurchenko full back in the lineup. Her fall training has been amazing and she knows how to fly with this vault. SV=10.0 Erika Rudiger has continued to improve her Yurchenko full. Erika should step in as a key vaulter for the 2014 season. SV=10.0 The sixth spot in the lineup is again a toss up! Jillian Hudson competes a Yurchenko full that has scored a PB of 9.85. She was sidelined at the end of the 2013 season with a back injury and is working to return to full form on vaulting. She could be a key contributor when she is back to full action. SV=10.0 Jess Gracia competes a unique full-on back pike off. She is in contention as an all arounder when she blocks off the table for the best height and distance this vault can achieve. SV=10.0

Uneven Bars The 2014 uneven bar squad will again have to make up for two top routines lost to graduation. Depth will be an issue on this event as well and newcomers will need to step up. Gracia could step in as a freshman to anchor the uneven bar team. She is consistent with great turning skills and a nice Geinger. Her dismount is a double layout and she is one to watch. Gray is now an experienced competitor on this event. Her execution is exquisite and she is planning on competing her toe shoot, front giant and Jaeger directly to an overshoot this season. Kayla adds some diversity to dismounts with a beautiful stalder immediate toe front half dismount. Rudiger trained hard in the off-season and that work ethic has paid off. Her PB of 9.875 leads the team of returnees and she is continuing to upgrade. She competes a Jaeger and is working to directly connect her full twisting giant to her ½ in ½ out double back dismount. Barile added a highflying Geinger to her bar routine last season and continues to impress. Her unique combination of hop change to straddle back handstand is even stronger with great off-season training. She needs to stick her double lay out dismount to add those essential points to the team score. Minichiello has solidified her spot in the lineup and can be counted on for a hit set. Her Pak salto has great consistency and the dismount series of blind change to double front is fun to watch. Fall training has her sticking her dismount often and this will be key to obtaining the high scores. Brodie has also worked hard in the off-season and is hungry for a spot in the lineup. She performs a solid routine with a giant full to blind half to a Jaeger combination, a blind change to pike back handstand and a double lay out dismount. This can be an event where she excels and helps the team accomplish its goals. Pfllieger has been slowed by shoulder issues on this event; however, she can be counted on to hit a 10.0 start value set. Her turning skills are great with a giant full to bail handstand and a giant full to double pike dismount. A high-level release move will see her in the lineup. If Meghan can become consistent in the gym she will add to the team’s depth. King has been a great addition to this team. She currently competes a Heli to a straddle back handstand with a blind to front Rudi dismount. Her high-flying Jaeger is in the training stage and will bump her into the lineup when it is consistent. Kelley, Broccoli and Hudson have the ability to help the team’s depth. Each of these athletes needs to make steps towards improving a skill or cleaning up execution to contend for a spot. All of them have the dedication and drive to make that happen.
Balance Beam
Kayla Gray competed a front tuck ½ at the end of last season and qualified as an all arounder to the NCAA Regionals. She could see action as the season progresses. SV=9.9
One of the perennial strong events for the ‘Cats is the balance beam. This is an event that often decides the winning team and the depth on this event will again make it difficult to determine the lineup, a good problem to have.
Lauren Brodie, Jen King and Brittany Prestia all are training Yurchenko fulls. Any one of them could step into a competitive spot. SV=10.0
Gray continues to be a national caliber performer on beam. As the reigning EAGL champion she embraced the anchor position last season and will once again lead. Kayla “plays” with acrobatic combinations that astonish her teammates and makes her fun to watch. Her dance elements leave no room for deductions as
Wildcat Gymnastics
2014 UNH Gymnastics team guide
Wildcats To Watch she completes every turn and hits full splits on every element. Pflieger joins the team as one of the strongest beam performers. Meghan competes a three- element acro series of back handspring-layout-back tuck. She also does a kick over front salto to a back tuck down to her knee for a different look. Her dance includes a switch leap to split ¼ and she dismounts with a cartwheel gainer full. Aucoin has beautiful lines and her addition to the beam lineup has also added great excitement for the team. Kelsey will compete either a side aerial-side aerial acro combination or a side aerial-back handspring. Her dance is also exquisite and she dismounts with a clean cartwheel gainer full. Minichiello improved her PB to a 9.9 last season and should be a solid performer once again. The goal to perform a triple flight of back handspring-layout-layout is still in reach; however it has to be solid in practice to take the risk in competition. The new NCAA reward of adding a tenth for triple flight might drive this goal to reality this season. Her “easy” routine includes back handspringlayout; front salto tucked, switch leap-back tuck and a nice cat leap to gainer full dismount as well as nice dance elements. Hill has returned to the team with a solid beam routine. Adrienne embraces the risk of a front tuck mount and performs a routine that can challenge the best. She not only performs a solid back handspring-layout but also easily combines a switch leg leap to a high back layout. She fights for every tenth in execution and should be one of the most consistent beam performers in 2014.
Barile qualified as an event specialist on vaulting and floor exercise last year and continues to perform at the top level. Her tumbling passes of piked back double, front full-front layout and tucked double back all have clean landings. Her opening pass should be upgraded to a full-in as the season progresses. Gray once again brings a style and execution that is unmatched and always beautiful to watch. She has a new routine that has elegant and sophisticated choreography and when her tumbling skills are solid she is tough to beat. She plans on adding a double tuck this year and continue to perform her front double full and Rudi combinations. Pflieger has a lot of personality in her choreography and explosive tumbling. She will make an immediate impact in this event. She opens with a front salto through to a high double back and finishes her routine with a solid double pike. Her middle pass is a front full to front pike and she knows how to perform for the audience as well as for the judges. Rudiger returns to the floor lineup with a lot more experience and has improved her execution in tumbling as well as her leaps and jumps. She was a high scoring floor competitor last year and should continue that trend this year. She will open her floor routine with a solid double pike, competes a very clean front layout to front full and keeps the level of difficulty throughout the set with a nice double tuck as her last pass. Her experience and hard work make her a tough competitor to beat. Machado has had to deal with some frustrating health issues this fall, but is returning to form. She has a new routine that is fun to watch and she continues to perform her tumbling skills and dance elements without deductions. Erin competes a double pike, a front full-front layout and finishes with a Rudi. She has proven herself many times on floor and can produce a very consistent score for the team. Minichiello started the floor lineup last year and set the standard very high all year. Jannelle has a double Arabian for a first pass, whip ½ - front layout in the middle and finishes her routine with a strong double back. She will compete those passes again and with her constant smile and fun choreography we expect her to be a crowd favorite. Brodie has trained hard all summer and fall to move into the lineup. Floor exercise is one of her best events and her tumbling and choreography is fun to watch. She will compete a double pike, whip ½ - front full and finish with a double tuck. She can make an impact here and will be in the mix on this event.
Erin Machado proved she is a trustworthy beam competitor by hitting 10 of 11 beam routines in 2013. She performs a standing back layout, back handspringback layout flight, switch leap to straddle jump, switch leap to switch side leap and a beat jump to split full for extra bonus in both tumbling and dance. Gracia is also in the mix for the lineup on beam. She has a 3-element flight of back handspring-back layout-back handspring, a front aerial and finishes with a roundoff double full. Catarina Broccoli continues to show promise for the ‘Cats on beam. She is extremely clean and has a nice routine with unique combinations of dance and tumbling. These include a front aerial to back handspring-layout and a split jump back pike. Brittany Prestia is one of the hardest workers in the gym and she could crack the beam lineup. She competes a front aerial to scale and a nice back handspringlayout. Her new dismount is a unique side aerial to a back layout full. Elissa Solomon and Kaylor Kelley have encountered illness and injury issues this fall; however, beam will be an event that both can return to quickly. The ‘Cats will be counting on them to get back in action to contribute to the team success. Barile, Brodie, King and Rudiger have continued to improve their consistency and raise the level of competitiveness within the team.
Floor Exercise
A great mix of veterans and newcomers make floor exercise a very exciting event for the Cats. Five of the top returnees have scored 9.85 or above and they will be challenged by the incoming and returning athletes to make this a stellar event. Like beam, this will be a tough event for the coaching staff to determine a lineup. Fall training has shown some standouts, but this team has a number of exciting options for the lineup. It is a great event for the ‘Cats and should prove to be a fan favorite as well.
front Rudi.
Aucoin has a style and execution that rivals the best. She loves to perform in this event and has experience and a level of execution that scores well at the collegiate level. Kelsey’s choreography is eye catching and once she solidifies her tumbling elements she will be a welcome addition to the lineup. Her planned tumbling passes include a front layout to a front double full, back layout 1 ½ twist to front layout and a final pass of a
Gracia also brings a clean elegant style with a high level of tumbling skills to this event. She competes a double pike, whip back to back layout 1 ½ twist-front tuck and a double tuck and is very solid in her dance elements. Jessica can perform without deductions and can excel in this event. She is coming off ankle surgery last year, but has trained well all fall and has shown she can do all her skills. Kelley can make this her best event. She has been slowed all fall recovering from illness and injury issues, but she is beautiful to watch on this event. Her quality of movement will impress fans and judges. Her tumbling should begin with a front double full, and finish with a back double tuck. This is one of her best events and she has the ability to get into a very competitive lineup. Prestia, Broccoli and King all have the ability to step into this mix and the team would not lose anything. This is a tough lineup to crack and any number of athletes can be counted on to step up and compete at a very high level.

EAGL 2014 EAGL Championship Saturday, March 22, 2 p.m.
At UNH’s Whittemore Center Arena (Durham, N.H.) What does “EAGL” stand for? Coaches from four different conferences joined together 18 years ago to form the “East Atlantic Gymnastics League” to provide top caliber competition for some strong women’s gymnastics teams. Teams from the America East (UNH), Big East (Pittsburgh, Rutgers and West Virginia), Atlantic Coast Conference (North Carolina, North Carolina State and Maryland) and Colonial Athletic Association (Towson) initiated one of the strongest postseason meets in the country. George Washington University, an Atlantic 10 team, replaced Towson in 2005, but the Tigers return in 2013 to replace Big 12-bound West Virginia . Every team in the league has improved and added top recruits so the ‘14 championship should be extremely competitive and exciting.

On January 18, 1992, in a victory over the University of Vermont, UNH senior co-captain Lori Brady (Pocasset, Mass.) achieved a longtime goal as she performed a flawless handspring-front piked salto and became the first collegiate gymnast to ever score a perfect “10” on vault. Brady went on to qualify for her third NCAA Championship where she became the first UNH gymnast to be named an All-American.

2014 UNH Gymnastics team guide
University of New Hampshire UNH Athletic Department Mission Statement The mission of the intercollegiate athletics program at UNH is to provide student-athletes a collegiate experience that is enriched by their participation in programs which are competitive at the NCAA Division I level both regionally and nationally. The intercollegiate athletics program also plays an important role by enhancing the quality of life for the University and statewide community by being a source of pride and identification with the University while always maintaining high standards of academic scholarship and integrity. To fulfill its mission, the intercollegiate program must: (1) Provide student-athletes every opportunity to meet academic and athletic demands with the goal of graduating every student-athlete; (2) Provide resources necessary to field competitive teams with league affiliations, and to gain regional and national recognition; (3) Provide equitable opportunities for all intercollegiate athletics by the active recruitment of minority student-athletes, and provide equitable opportunities for all women studentathletes commensurate with that of their male counterparts; (4) Provide excellent facilities for all student-athletes to train, practice and play; (5) Conduct all operations within state and federal law, University policies, rules of the NCAA, and athletics conferences in which the University competes.
UNH Diversity Statement
The University seeks excellence through diversity among its administrators, faculty, staff, and students. The University prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, veteran status, or marital status. The University of New Hampshire is committed to creating a more diverse community, knowing that “inclusion, diversity and equity are values inextricably linked to our mission of educational excellence.” This diversity strengthens our ability to reach our individual and collective potential and to provide better services and care for all faculty, staff and students.
About the University of New Hampshire
The University of New Hampshire was originally founded as a land-grant college whose mission was to shape and educate citizenry among the state’s farmers, business people and engineers. Today, the University is a land-, sea-, and space-grant university serving a growing undergraduate student body of about 12,565 and a graduate population of 2,196 in addition to 596 full-time faculty members, 86% of which have earned their doctorate degree. The University has grown into a top public research university occupying 2,600 acres of classic living and learning space, while still maintaining the look and feel of a New England liberal arts college with a faculty dedicated to teaching. UNH’s student to faculty ratio registers at 20:1 with 85% of its classes having 50 students or less. As one of the most prestigious institutions in the Northeast, the University of New Hampshire has always been recognized as a leader in education and research, spanning all fields of study and uniting them through interdisciplinary programs, labs, farms, theatres, research centers and libraries. Founded in 1866 as the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts, UNH was among the early state institutions of higher education whose formation was made possible by federal government land grants. The purpose for the grants was to establish colleges that would serve the sons and daughters of farming and laboring families. New Hampshire College was originally situated in Hanover, N.H. Here it was in connection with Dartmouth College before moving to Durham in 1893 after Benjamin Thompson bequeathed land and money to further the development of the college. The state legislature then granted its new charter as the University of New Hampshire in 1923. The University hosts nearly 550 international students from more than 40 countries and boasts a population of students from 49 states. Along with over 100 majors offered, UNH encompasses seven schools and colleges that undergraduates can choose from: the College of Liberal Arts, College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, School of Health and Human Services, College of Life Sciences and Agricultures, Whittemore School of Business and Economics and the Thompson School of Applied Science. And at the very heart of the University’s undergraduate studies is the General Education Program. The GEP is a core program with a breadth of academic subjects that aims to acquaint the student with some of the major modes of thought necessary to understand oneself, others, society and the world. The University prides itself as being a top 10 entrepreneurial campus (Forbes.com and The Princeton Review) and is among the top 30 universities nationally in science research funding from NASA. UNH is home to the NASA-recognized Space Science Center; the Institute for Study for Earth, Oceans and Space; and the Institute of Marine Science and Engineering. The English program is staffed by an inspiring faculty of winners of the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, the MacArthur Fellowship, the Edgar Allen Poe Award and the Young Poets Award. In addition, the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, established in 1962, was recently selected second among all business schools in a nationwide pool of business school deans.

2014 UNH Gymnastics guide Workteam Today, Conquer Tomorrow
University of New Hampshire New Hampshire also graduates students who attend top-notch graduate schools, including Law School at Harvard and Cornell, Engineering at Stanford, and Medical School at Dartmouth, John Hopkins and Harvard. There have been over $9 million in capitol improvements to the Athletic Department since the summer of 2000. Most recently, as part of a $650,000 renovation project in the summer of 2011, the field turf at Bremner Field was replaced with a new state-of-the-art surface used by many varsity teams and for student recreational activities. In the fall of 2008, the Paul Sweet Oval renovation was completed to include new surfaces, lighting, painting, infrastructure upgrades and the replacement of windows that existed in the original architecture. The total cost of the project exceeded $500,000. In the summer of 2007, the Cowell Stadium grass field was replaced with a $1 million Field Turf synthetic surface. Additionally in 2007, a complete renovation of Lundholm Gymnasium was undertaken. The $600,000 renovation included a new state-of-the-art bleacher system, new scoreboards, competition baskets and other aesthetic enhancements. In addition to the incredible improvements of its athletic facilities, the University has upgraded and renovated a large part of its academic campus as well. Thompson Hall, one of the standing historical landmarks of the University, has been beautifully refurbished and restored. The University also completed a $52 million renovation of Kingsbury Hall, adding 6,000 square feet of student project space for students in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, as well as a $4.5 revamp of Hewitt Hall to expand the School of Health and Human Services. In addition, the new 120,000 square foot Biological Sciences Building, Rudman Hall and the Spaulding Life Sciences Renovation project now provide state-of-the-art teaching and researching laboratories. The University also spent $15 million to complete Morse Hall, a science and engineering building as well as $8.2 million to modernize the Memorial Union Building. This revision to the existing student union building consisted of several upgrades including top kitchen and dining facilities, two theaters, student mailboxes, lounges and meeting rooms, as well as additional retail spaces such as the University Bookstore. The University has also completed construction of the new dining facility on Main Street, Holloway Commons, as well as the renovation of the Dimond Library. In November 1995, construction of the $27 million Recreation and Sport Complex reached completion. The Whittemore Center includes a state-of-theart 6,500 to 7,500 seat arena for hockey, concerts and convocations, as well as a three-level recreational sports facility within the structure which had housed the old Snively Arena. Combining the atmosphere of a small New England liberal arts college with the resources and opportunities of a major research university, the University of New Hampshire is a place where all students can find or create their own niche and succeed. While the University offers an extremely broad academic base with an inspiring faculty, it also provides students with thousands of opportunities to get involved, either through athletics, campus recreation, student life or research. The University is a dynamic community that not only challenges its members academically but also expands their understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity and leads to incredible growth as students, faculty, staff and as a community.

The Administration
dr. Mark W. Huddleston - President
Mark W. Huddleston became the 19th president of the University of New Hampshire in July 2007, bringing three decades of experience in public and private education as a faculty member, dean, and senior administrator. Huddleston has been a strong advocate for increasing affordability and accessibility in higher education, and has argued that we need to rethink much of what we do to protect our core missions, and to ensure that higher education remains vital and financially sustainable in the 21st century. In February 2010, he presented a 10-year strategic plan for UNH, the result of an intensive collaboration between faculty, students, staff, alumni, and the University’s wider communities. Emphasizing innovation and entrepreneurship, the plan is helping to guide the University’s response to a historic state budget cut passed by the 2011 New Hampshire Legislature. “The strategic plan commits us to finding new ways to teach, learn, discover, create, and engage in the 21st century—and positions UNH to become a national leader in the redefinition of American higher education,” Huddleston says. Huddleston was raised in Syracuse, N.Y., and was the first member of his family ever to attend college. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York-Buffalo, and both a master’s degree and Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He began his academic career at SUNY-Buffalo in 1977 as an assistant professor of political science. In 1980, he joined the faculty of the University of Delaware, where he served for the next 24 years. There, he chaired the Department of Political Science and International Relations and served as associate provost for international programs. In 2001, he was named dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, overseeing 45 academic departments and centers with nearly 900 full-time faculty and staff, and serving in that capacity until he was named president of Ohio Wesleyan University in 2004. An author of numerous books and articles, he has been a consultant for both the U.S. government and international organizations. He also served as an adviser in Bosnia on rebuilding financial and administrative infrastructures after the Dayton accords. Marty Scarano - Director of Athletics The 2013-14 academic year marks the 14th year Marty Scarano is serving as the Director of Athletics at the University of New Hampshire. During his tenure, Scarano has heightened national exposure for UNH athletics with academics, facility renovations and programmatic advancement being top priorities. During Scarano’s tenure, UNH teams have made 44 NCAA postseason appearances and captured 14 conference titles. Gymnastics has participated in 12 NCAA tournaments, leading all programs over that span. Men’s hockey holds a pair of Hockey East titles and has made 11 trips to the NCAA tournament, including Frozen Four appearances in 2002 and 2003. The football program has qualified for the NCAA FCS postseason for a nation-leading nine consecutive seasons and advanced to the quarterfinals six times during the streak. Women’s ice hockey has seen NCAA action five times with two Frozen Four appearances. The squad also captured consecutive Hockey East Championships from 2006-09. The field hockey team captured its second-ever America East crown in 2011 en route to its second national tournament appearance. Volleyball has made a pair of NCAA appearances after capturing back-to-back conference titles in 2002 and 2003. Women’s lacrosse has earned a pair of NCAA berths (2004, 2008), one coming after an America East championship victory in 2004. There has been over $10 million in capital improvements since Scarano’s hiring in the summer of 2000. Athletic excellence is part of the formula for success in the collegiate experience for University of New Hampshire gymnasts. The primary measure of achievement is the student-athlete’s success in the classroom. UNH is dedicated to enhancing the student-athlete’s ability to achieve academic excellence and has one of the top graduation rates in the country. Realizing the time commitment the gymnasts give to the school, the University administers a comprehensive program of academic support services that is available to Wildcat gymnasts and all other student-athletes. This program includes the monitoring of academic progress, providing tutorial services, access to a well-equipped studentathlete academic center, as well as interacting with the academic advisors within the various colleges. Serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services since 1994 is Joanne Maldari, a 1990 graduate of Holy Cross who went on to earn her master’s degree in Athletic Counseling at Springfield College. She was recognized for her outstanding efforts at UNH by receiving the University’s 2001 Academic Advising Award. Before coming to Durham, Maldari served athletic counseling internships at Springfield and Central Connecticut State University. Carly Barbato was appointed as the Coordinator of Student-Athlete Academic Support during the winter of 2013. Earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor of Exercise Science at St. Lawrence University in 2007, she was a four-year letterwinner as a goalkeeper, earning Liberty League Honorable Mention in her final two seasons. Additionally, she was named a co-captain in her senior season. Barbato also earned her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at Loyola University of Maryland in 2009 while working as a graduate assistant coach for the women’s soccer team. At UNH, she will provide comprehensive support services to student-athletes, mentoring, counseling, and proactive monitoring. Furthermore, she will tutor and meet one-on-one with student-athletes as well as organize and teach study skill classes for student-athletes. Brandon Thomas was appointed as an academic coordinator during August of 2013. 2014 UNH Gymnastics team guide Strength and Conditioning John Ciani John Ciani is entering his 13th year with the University of New Hampshire athletic department. After four years as an assistant coach in the University’s strength and conditioning office, Ciani was promoted to the position of Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning in 2006. Ciani’s efforts have been key in guiding UNH student-athletes to NCAA appearances in both men’s and women’s ice hockey, football, gymnastics, women’s volleyball, women’s lacrosse, skiing and track and field. Coach Ciani is very passionate about his commitment to strength and conditioning. He has taken his wide range of experiences to come up with a distinct sport-specific training philosophy. In conjunction with the coaching staff, Ciani develops individualized training programs depending on the athlete’s initial evaluation, experience level and current athletic ability. Under Ciani’s program, improvement is not based on the weight on the bar, but rather how injury resistant the student-athlete is and his/her athletic performance. Strength and conditioning programs designed by Ciani utilize all facets of training, from conventional strength training and Olympic Weightlifting to simple conditioning and sport-specific metabolic runs that enhance the athlete’s abilities during competition. No single training style dominates the program; Ciani uses a combination of all training techniques for the total development of the student-athlete. Ciani was a featured speaker at the Vermont State Clinic for the National Strength & Conditioning Association in June of 2010. The Sports Performance clinic, which was held at the University of Vermont Varsity Weight Room, was attended by athletic trainers strength coaches, personal trainers, and other fitness professionals across the New England area. In addition to Ciani, the clinic included presentations from strength coaches from Boston College, Dartmouth and Boston University. Ciani, a native of the San Diego, Calif. area, came to UNH after a stint as assistant strength coach at the University of North Dakota. During his tenure at UND, Ciani worked primarily with the 2001 Division II national championship football team, women’s volleyball and men’s basketball teams. In 2000, he began his career at Long Beach State as a graduate assistant working with the perennial national power women’s volleyball team, where he trained many All-American and national team level volleyball players, including Misty May-Treanor.

Vault Vaulting requires speed, quickness and explosive power.
Vaults are divided into three categories; handsprings, Tsukaharas 1/4 & 1/2 turn entry, and round-off entry. The collegiate program has its own table for the starting value of all vaults with a maximum value of 10.0. Deductions may be taken in three phases of the vault — preflight (board to the table), support (when touching table), and after-flight (distance and height) from the table to point of landing. Only one vault will be performed per competitor.
Uneven Bars A bar routine should be composed of elements
In collegiate team competition, six gymnasts perform on each of the four apparatus. The five best scores per event are added together to form the cumulative team total. At least two judges are required to evaluate an athlete’s performance. The scores are averaged to arrive at a final mark. Collegiate programs follow the rules developed for the Level 10 Junior Olympic program with some modifications. Optional routines, put together by the gymnast to express herself through the skills she may perform best, are based from a starting score of 9.5, with a possibility of an additional .5 bonus for performing greater difficulty and special connections of skills. Skills are divided into different categories (A,B,C,D,E), with E containing the highest level of difficulty. Each event has special requirements that must be met. Judges use the following categories to evaluate optional routines: • Value Parts (difficulty) 2.2 • Special Requirements 2.0 • Additive Value 0.5 • Execution, Combination & Artistry 5.3 • Total 10.0 General: Each event has defined basic requirements for choice of elements “up to the competition level.” If not met, the deduction is .10. Other deductions are taken for such things as bent arms and legs, separation of legs, incomplete turns or lack of full stretch and insufficient artistry of presentation.

from different groups: kips, cast and counter swings, underswing and clear hip circles, giant swings backward and forward, stalder circles and circle swings and hechts. Special requirements include a minimum of two bar changes, two different flight elements, minimum 2 different “C‘s” or a “B” and a “D”, one element with longitudinal axis turn of “C” value or greater and a dismount of at least “C” value. A strong routine shows elements with great amplitude, release moves, grip changes and direction changes and difficulty well-balanced throughout the routine. Pauses for concentration, intermediate swings and uncharacteristic elements are to be avoided. If a fall occurs, the gymnast must resume the exercise within 45 seconds.
Balance Beam
The beam routine should be composed of elements from the following groups: acrobatic elements with and without flight; dance elements such as turns, leaps or jumps and hops; running combinations; balance elements in a stand, sit and lying positions; and body waves. Special requirements of this event are an acrobatic series of a minimum of two flight elements - one which must be at least a C with or without hand support (both elements must start and finish on the beam), dance series of two or more elements one which must be “C’’ value or greater, a minimum of 360 degree turn, a leap or jump requiring 180 degree split (front or side) and at least a “C” dismount or a “B” preceded by and directly connected to any “C” or greater element. Performing on the four-inch beam requires precise movement and intense concentration; each wobble results in a deduction. The routine must finish under 90 seconds. If a fall occurs, a gymnast must resume the exercise within 30 seconds.
Floor Exercise
Floor exercise is a combination of dance, tumbling and acrobatics performed to music. The composition of the exercise must show harmony between gymnastics and acrobatic elements, create dynamic changes in rhythm and levels, and show versatile use of the entire floor. The routine must contain one acrobatic series with two (2) saltos (same or different), OR two (2) directly connected saltos. (If the two (2) saltos are not directly connected, they must be included in an acrobatic series, which is defined as a minimum of three acrobatic flight elements, with or without hand support) Three (3) different saltos are also required throughout the routine. A dance pass with a minimum of two (2), directly or indirectly connected leaps or jumps; one of which is a leap (one foot take-off) requiring a minimum of 180°split fulfills the dance expectations. A minimum of “C” salto as the last isolated salto or within the last salto connection completes the special requirements.
