NEW HAVEN CHARGERS WOMEN ’ S SOCCER IN THE ATHLETICS ALUMNI HALL OF FAME Mireille DeRose-Esponda - Inducted 2006 A four-year team captain, Mireille DeRose-Esponda’s Charger career began when women’s soccer made its debut at the varsity level in 1993. She immediately starred in the midfield helping New Haven compile an impressive 39-26-3 record over the next four years. DeRose-Esponda, a pioneer in UNH women’s soccer, finished her standout career with 37 goals and added 19 assists for a total of 91 points. Mireille remains among the top in all three major statistical categories, currently fourth all-time in points and goals and fifth in assists. She is also among the top-10 in the single season records for all three categories. Christine Huber - Inducted 2008 Huber was a four-time all-conference selection and is second all-time in scoring for the women’s soccer program. In her freshman year, the former high school all-American burst onto the scene with 20 goals and 45 points en route to one of her two First Team All-NECC awards. Huber still holds school records for goals (5) and points (10) in a single game. Her totals of 63 goals and 144 points were both school records until the 2006 season. Equally adept in basketball, Huber was a three-time all-conference selection and still ranks eighth in career scoring (1,453 points) and 10th in career rebounding (764).

Crystal Lindsay - Inducted 2014 The owner of nearly every scoring record for New Haven women’s soccer, Crystal Lindsay was the offensive force behind one of the best four-year stretches in program history. A 2006 All-America honoree and two-time conference player of the year, Lindsay scored a program record 82 goals in her career while leading the Chargers to their only two NCAA postseason appearances to date. In addition to her 82 goals – which rank 17th all-time in NCAA Division II – Lindsay racked up the second-most assists in New Haven history with 21 to round out a program-best 185 career points. The Chargers went 47-24-9 during Lindsay’s four-year career and established singleseason records for goals, assists, points and wins that remain atop the program record books. Lindsay capped her career with an NSCAA Second Team All-America nod and was chosen as the 2006 University of New Haven Female Athlete of the Year. In her final season at New Haven, Lindsay established the current single-season record with 23 goals as a part of a 50-point senior season. Joe Machnik - Inducted 1987 As an administrator, Machnik was the Director of Athletics during the introduction of women’s athletics to UNH and was instrumental in elevating New Haven athletics from NAIA to NCAA status. It was also during his tenure that football was upgraded to the varsity level. As head coach of the New Haven men’s soccer program, Joe Machnik guided the Chargers to the NCAA National Championship Game in 1976 – the first of back-toback Final Four appearances and one of four NCAA Regional trips during his tenure. His 59.6 winning percentage in women’s soccer also remains as the best in school his-

tory, while he is third all-time in total wins with 39. Selina Moylan-O’Toole - Inducted 2016 New Haven’s first ever three-time All-American and four-time All-Region selection during her illustrious career, Selina Moylan-O’Toole was a member of the UNH women’s soccer team from 2005-2008. Moylan-O’Toole made an impact the moment she stepped on campus, helping lead the Chargers to an undefeated 9-0-1 record and the program’s first ever New York Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title. That year she finished with 27 points off 10 goals and seven assists, earning her first NSCAA All-America honor on the third team. Following a second-straight third team All-America honor as a sophomore, MoylanO’Toole enjoyed the best season of her career when she was named New Haven’s Female Athlete of the Year after earning NSCAA and Daktronics All-America Second Team distinction. Overall for her career, Moylan-O’Toole holds the all-time record for career assists with 29. In addition she is third in school history in goals scored (49) and points (127). She also helped lead the Chargers to their first NCAA Tournament with back-to-back appearances in 2005 and 2006.
