UNICORN THEATRE

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMME A new opportunity to partner with this country’s leading theatre for children and bring creative practice into the heart of your school’s curriculum delivery. The award-winning Unicorn Theatre is seeking three primary schools in Southwark, Lambeth or Tower Hamlets with which to forge creative, collaborative partnerships over the next academic year. We’re looking to partner with Senior Leadership Teams and teachers to provide innovative co-creational programmes of enriching artist-led activities within the classroom, working with children aged 4-11 years. This vibrant new programme of creative learning activity will be launching in September 2021 and is free to the three selected state schools.

THE PROGRAMME WILL PROVIDE YOUR SCHOOL WITH: • 2 - 3 professional theatre artist-led creative projects over the next year; • Access to special VIP performances and backstage tours at the Unicorn; • Dedicated teacher CPD for the schools’ full teaching staff, exploring how drama can be used across the curriculum; • Priority booking and access to subsidised tickets to see professional Unicorn shows, with free teaching resources; • Free access to Unicorn digital work; • Support of an experienced wellbeing practitioner to contribute to the schools’ own process of pandemic recovery.

WE’RE KEEN TO HEAR FROM SCHOOLS THAT HAVE: • an organisational culture that would benefit from the transformational co-creative opportunities that artists working within a school can provide; • an actively involved head and SLT, willing to collaborate, experiment and commit to the potential of change, and who will advocate and share learnings with the wider educational field; • engaged teaching staff, committed to collaborating on the creative learning journey; • children and families with high levels of barriers to cultural experiences due to challenges relating to socio-economic and cultural representation (schools with comparatively high levels of Pupil Premium requirement and Free School Meals will be prioritised).

HOW TO APPLY We’re asking interested schools to complete a short expression of interest form. For more information about the programme, and to fill in the form, visit unicorntheatre.com/partner Deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm, Mon 12 July 2021 Confirmation of school partners by Fri 16 July 2021
