My UCA story

“I always say UCA was one of my favourite periods of my life - final year being the highlight. It was the most intense but best time, I made lifelong friends and really understood what kind of designer I am as well as picking up so many skills. We were always encouraged to go as far as we could with our research and the whole development of the design process, which was my favorite part. The tutors were great at seeing what worked for us individually as students and designers and steered us in the right direction.”

Aissata Ibrahima graduated in Fashion Design 2016, and now runs her own acclaimed sustainable fashion brand.

“I honestly loved my time at UCA. I felt like a name and not a number; my course leader, lecturers and tutors all took the time to get to know me and my year group. They knew each of our strengths and worked hard to get the very best out of us. I made friends for life who are as passionate about design as I am, and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know them.”

Emily Kelly graduated in Graphic Communication (now Graphic Design) at UCA Farnham in 2016, and now works as a designer for Surrey Satellites Ltd.

“The reputation of the Film Production degree course was the main reason I picked UCA. I had a great three years and made several friends I’m still in touch with to this day. There’s nothing quite so satisfying as being around like-minded people and I certainly met lots of people I connected with on my course. That was probably the most rewarding aspect of my time on campus.”

Jamie Seal is an award- winning documentary maker and graduated from UCA in 2003 with a degree in Film Production.
