Guest lectures, networking opportunities and more
We host a wide range of guest lectures and free seminars delivered by distinguished practitioners from industry and leading academic staff at the University. Past visitors have included animation guru, Luis Clichy, who worked on classic Pixar film Wall-E; Labour MP, David Blunkett; former director of EasyJet, Lance Howarth; Nigel Huddleston, Head of Google Travel UK and many more. These events are open to both our alumni and current students and each event enables attendees to broaden their knowledge, get insight direct from professionals active in industry and also serves as a great opportunity to network.
Richard Sackey-Addo
Sport & Exercise Science BSc (Hons) (2014) Sports Performance MSc (2015) Education Coordinator, Tennis Integrity Unit “I received great support from my lecturers in the Sport Science and Physical Activity department as they helped me to engage with useful contacts in the industry, suggested local work experience opportunities and often did a lot to be available outside of contact hours when needed. The University’s recreational sport programme was also fantastic in facilitating myself, the University tennis club and British Tennis to develop a comprehensive tennis participation programme at the University for students, staff and also the local community.“
