UK FEES AND

FINANCE Being aware of the costs of further study is important. It is also important to know there is a wide variety of funding available to help you during your studies. Our financial support and advice can help you get the most out of your student experience with us.

UK FEES FOR 2023

This information applies to UK and EU students with settled/pre-settled status in the UK. Tuition fees can vary quite considerably between institutions. Fees are also dependent on the type of course you are studying. UNIVERSITY FUNDING*

At the University of Bedfordshire, we try to make financing your studies as simple and affordable as possible by offering a wide variety of financial support in the form of bursaries, scholarships and studentships. There may also be discretionary funds available to help students experiencing hardship.

POSTGRADUATE TAUGHT DEGREE TUITION-FEE ALUMNI DISCOUNT*

If you have previously completed your Honours Degree at the University of Bedfordshire (including the University of Luton and DMU’s Bedford campus), you could be entitled to a 20% alumni discount on full- and part-time Master's courses.

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS*

If you would like to compete, coach or officiate at the highest level in your sport of interest, or you have already achieved a high standard in your favourite sport, then you could be eligible for one of our Sports Scholarships – available to full-time postgraduate students. Worth up to £1,000, they also offer great additional sporting benefits.

NON-UNIVERSITY FUNDING

As well as the University’s scholarships and studentships, there is also a wide variety of other funding options available to support you during your studies. Please see below for more details.

POSTGRADUATE LOAN

Loans for Master’s degrees are now available to support postgraduate study. Available to UK-based students*, the loan provides up to £11,836 (2022/23) for taught and research Master’s courses in all subject areas for those studying full-time, part-time or via distance learning. PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT

Some of our students decide to top-up their income by working part-time during their studies. Our on-campus Careers and Employability Service is on hand to help you find employment.

EMPLOYER SPONSORSHIP

Your employer may have a budget for staff development and may consider paying all, or part, of the course fees. Employer sponsorship could also extend to a contribution to the cost of books and materials, day release to attend classes or the provision of study time.

EDUCATIONAL TRUSTS AND CHARITIES

There are a number of trusts that may be able to provide funding for postgraduate study, including the British Academy (for social sciences courses), the Royal Academy of Engineering (for engineering courses), and the Royal Society (for science courses). FUNDING FOR TRAINEE TEACHERS

Students who are studying a postgraduate course in Initial Teacher Training (such as a PGCE) can qualify for the finance package, comprising the Tuition Fee Loan and the Maintenance Loan. You may also be able to get a training bursary or scholarship worth up to £24,000 if you train to teach in certain ‘priority’ subjects. To find out more, please visit:
