Welcome to the School of Sport Science and Physical Activity at the University of Bedfordshire.

I am delighted that you will be studying with us in September. Our campus has a rich heritage in physical training that dates back to 1903, something we are very proud of. Today, Bedford is a modern campus with state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant academic and student community.

We have developed strong relationships with sporting organisations across the county and beyond that benefit all our students. I believe our placement opportunities with these partners are a key factor in our high graduate employment rates.

We know how important it is to give you the best possible start to academic life. That’s why we have created this booklet which provides you with important information to prepare for your course and your first few weeks and months at University.

I look forward to meeting you during Welcome Week.

Dr Martyn Morris Head of School

We are excited that you will be joining us in September. We are looking forward to meeting you for your induction during Welcome Week, which will focus on introducing you to your course, the academic team and your fellow students. You will have a personal tutor who is there to support you throughout your course. They run weekly office hours so you can book an appointment if you need to chat to them. Remember that we are all here to support you every step of the way as you begin your academic journey. If you have any questions, just ask.
