Scholarships and bursaries
Merit Scholarship
We offer a Merit Scholarship, worth £2,400 over three academic years, which is awarded to those who can demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, through scoring 112 UCAS tariff points or more.
University Bursary
We’re keen on supporting each and every one of our students at Bedfordshire so, if you aren’t eligible for the Merit Scholarship, our Bursary will give you £1,500 over three academic years, or £1,000 over two academic years. If you’re joining us in level 5 of your course, you’ll be eligible for the Level 5 Bursary.
Foundation Year Bursary
If you’re undertaking a Foundation Year as part of an integrated four-year degree, you could be eligible for our Foundation Year Bursary, worth £2,000 spread over four years.
Level Five Bursary
The Level Five Bursary is for all new undergraduate students enrolling on year two of a full-time undergraduate degree. It is worth £1,000, spread over two years.
Care Leavers Bursary
If you are supported by your local authority care-leaving service and are under the age of 25, you could be eligible for the Care Leavers Bursary, worth £5,700 over three years. While there are no restrictions on the nationality of applicants, you must be normally resident in the UK and enrolled on a full-time course.
Access to Learning Fund
If you experience unexpected financial difficulty whilst at university, you may be able to receive financial aid through our Access to Learning Fund. The Fund can be used for course and living costs that are not met by other grants, for emergency payments to cover financial crises, or to help you if you are thinking of giving up your course because of financial worries.
Sports Scholarships
If you have the desire to compete, coach or officiate at the highest level in your sport of interest, or you have already achieved a high standard in your favourite sport, then you could be eligible for one of our Sports Scholarships.
Worth up to £1,000, some also include additional benefits such as membership to our on-campus Aspire gyms. Our Sports Scholarships include:
