Welcome to Buckingham
Thank you for your interest in the University of Buckingham.
We are a unique, boutique university, with our main, verdant campus nestled in a bend of the River Great Ouse, on the site of the original 7th century Saxon settlement of Buckingham.
The University was founded on a vision of the necessity of university independence. This encompasses our commitment to academic freedom and free speech, and our belief in the vitality and relevance of the great academic traditions, with a determination to pass these on to future generations to develop and enrich.
We are immensely proud of our small group teaching. We
believe in the value of social interaction in small groups as an essential means of learning, at a time when many other institutions are focusing only on impersonal online modes of instruction.
Innovation and entrepreneurship pervade much of what we do. Not least, our two-year degrees exemplify our pioneering spirit, introducing a model of teaching and learning that many find fit more closely with their needs and aspirations.
Above all, we are a community, a thriving body of undergraduate and postgraduate students, from 80 countries at the last count, interacting with many distinguished scholars, united in a shared purpose.
Explore what we offer through this brochure. Come to our open days, virtually or inperson. Connect with our current students. If you like what you see, I look forward to welcoming you here in person.
