Humanities and Social Sciences
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences offers postgraduate courses spanning economics, international studies, history and history of art, philosophy, digital news, and English literature. The School operates out of the Buckingham Campus and our central London Campus, where a range of specialist teaching and research courses are available.
An international flavour runs throughout our humanities offerings and is supported by specialised research and teaching centres, including the Buckingham Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies; Centre for United Nations Studies; Institute of International Monetary Research; and the Institute of Sports Humanities.

Our London-based programmes provide you with the opportunity to develop your research skills and interests whilst being personally supervised by internationally-renowned scholars including John Adamson, Adriano Aymonino, Lloyd Clark, Saul David, John Drew, Alicja Gescinska, Simon Heffer, Jeremy Howard, Michael Prodger, Glyn Redworth, Jane Ridley, Ed Smith and Adrian Tinniswood. Guest lectures have been given by Anthony Beevor, Rodric Braithwaite, Max Hastings, Mervyn King, Douglas Murray, Hew Strachan and Andrew Strauss.
Based in Bloomsbury, central London, you will be part of our growing academic community in the capital and will have 24-hour access to our Gower Street premises.
