WELCOME
2
Welcome to the University of Suffolk I am delighted that you are considering the University of Suffolk as an option for your studies. We are one of the youngest universities in the UK; that means we don’t just rely on a heritage stretching back over many years, but focus on making history every day. Our growing numbers and high graduate employability demonstrate that we are a real force in the higher education sector. The University of Suffolk welcomes students from all around the globe to study at our fantastic waterfront campus, located in the driest part of the UK and with the most sunshine year after year. Our campus is stylish and modern, set in a thriving location where you will soon feel at home. The low cost of living and affordable accommodation is attractive; and our excellent transport links to London, Cambridge, the coast and the countryside makes us accessible for all. We recognise that the recent global pandemic has given many students cause to reflect on where and when they choose to study. Our current students have benefited from our approach to both online and on-campus support; they have met their learning outcomes and remained part of a community that is supportive and friendly. We have prioritised the health and safety of our students, staff and wider community along with providing excellence in the learning experience of all students and this will continue. Our emphasis is on treating every student as an individual and alongside small teaching classes and personal support, this means that you will soon feel part of our community. We put significant importance on developing courses where employers are actively involved in course design and delivery. As a result of our emphasis on employability and transferable skills, our graduates gain good jobs quickly after graduating. Joining forces with employers, businesses, and research organisations, we give them access to the kind of people they are looking for: you. So we would encourage you to consider studying in the UK at the University of Suffolk and invite you to come and join us for a transformational experience, one which you will never forget and will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life.

I grew up in the Philippines and found myself at 17 with no goals and poor grades so I worked hard for my last year of high school, and recognised my passion for sport and coaching. I chose the University of Suffolk because of the practical opportunities, which I knew were essential to employment. Ipswich is a beautiful town just outside of London and a short distance from Stansted airport. Spending three years here and then deciding to do my masters at Suffolk has been an easy choice. I have fallen in love with the countryside and the beautiful waterfront where I spend most of my time studying and working with my tutors on projects. I chose my course because I was passionate about physical preparation for elite athletes. My ultimate goal is to work at Juventus F.C., I have learnt to appreciate the coaching, research, and teaching element that surrounds Strength and Conditioning.
I’ve learned everything from how to interact with professionals in high-pressure environments, to how to apply contemporary research in a practical and efficient manner with athletes. The staff are constantly looking to grow and improve, moulding the University into a fantastic institution for learning. I feel like I’ve been a part of this, able to grow and achieve my full potential. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you get yourself out there and make friends. Make the most of your course and utilise all of the resources available to you so that when you look back at your university years you are truly proud of what you have achieved.

MEET THE TEAM
DOYIN AKINDOTUNI MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence When I took the decision to study the MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence I had basic experience working with data back in my home country Nigeria. I knew the programme would equip me with an understanding and the expertise to thrive in an ever-changing data-centric world. I enjoyed the units related to data science, and I hope to work on a data science study in my extended project. One of the best things about this course is that having former knowledge about coding is not necessary as the lecturers made it really easy to acquire the basics. It has been helpful and opened my eyes to degrees of coding knowledge, which were new to me.

Meet the Team
Our international student admissions and support team
The support is great, being able to contact a lecturer in multiple ways for help with module materials and assessment is priceless, especially when they reply quickly with an abundance of constructive feedback. I look forward to working fully in a data scientist role where I can put all the skills from my MSc to use.

YOSSICO STEPHANIE MBA Graduate
Global Banking School (GBS)
I’m from Indonesia and chose the MBA as an ideal qualification to develop my knowledge of strategic management. It was an amazing experience giving me the opportunity to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and experience in the workplace, and we learned from each other. I was the youngest on the MBA programme and this was so valuable to me. Part of this course was having the opportunity to present our work to the class once a week, it improved my confidence and made the learning more interactive, rather than just sitting in lectures.
GBS offers a range of undergraduate degree programmes within its School of Management, validated by the University of Suffolk. Delivered by GBS at campuses in London, Manchester and Birmingham, students graduate with a University of Suffolk award.
International Business Strategy was my favourite module; the chance to take part in a trip to Boston, USA, was another reason I chose the MBA at Suffolk. The trip included working on a real-life case study, researching options, and presenting our ideas.
London School of Commerce The University has a long-term partnership with London School of Commerce. Undergraduate and taught postgraduate Programmes are validated for delivery at their campuses in London, Manchester, Malta and Sri Lanka, with plans to extend into Malaysia and Egypt.
Also in partnership with GBS, we deliver a suite of International Foundation Programmes, including Extended Programmes that include pre-sessional English, for those unable to meet the required entry requirements for a University of Suffolk degree programme. For more information, visit uos.ac.uk/IFP

Despite being only one hour from London, Ipswich offers great value for money in comparison to other locations in the UK.
There are shops and amenities to suit all budgets and accommodation within a short walking distance of the university campus.
The University of Suffolk, like every other institution in the UK has adapted to COVID-19 and we take all necessary steps to maintain the health and safety of our community and visitors to the University. You can visit us by coming along to one of our open events in Suffolk to find out more about the University, meet the academic teams, view our accommodation and see our great campus. If you can’t make it to one of our open events, we’re happy to arrange a personalised tour of our campus and accommodation with a member of the International Admissions team. Email international@uos.ac.uk and we will endeavour to work around your travel schedule. Alternatively, you can visit us online and explore our virtual tour at your own leisure.
Look around our state-of-the-art facilities through Campus 360s and access our online videos which highlight our suite of subject programmes, campus location and support services. You can also join one of our virtual open events. Book your place for an opportunity to register for access to our subject and support service talks, as well as our student support teams from finance and admissions, which are available via online chat to answer any questions you may have during the day.
