SOMEWHERE INSIDE ALL OF US LIES THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD Roald Dahl
Welcome
Welcome to the University of Suffolk I am delighted that you are considering the University of Suffolk as an option for your studies. We are one of the youngest universities in the UK; that means we don’t just rely on a heritage stretching back over many years, but focus on making history every day. Our growing numbers and high graduate employability demonstrate that we are a real force in the higher education sector. The University of Suffolk welcomes students from all around the globe to study at our fantastic waterfront campus, located in the driest part of the UK and with the most sunshine year after year. Our campus is stylish and modern, set in a thriving location where you will soon feel at home. The low cost of living and affordable accommodation is attractive; and our excellent transport links to London, Cambridge, the coast and the countryside makes us accessible for all. We recognise that the recent global pandemic has given many students cause to reflect on where and when they choose to study. Our current students have benefited from our approach to both online and on-campus support over the last year; our students have been able to meet their learning outcomes and to remain part of a community that is supportive and friendly. We have prioritised the health and safety of our students, staff and wider community along with providing excellence in the learning experience for all students and we expect this to continue for the future. Our emphasis is on treating every student as an individual and alongside small teaching classes and personal support, this means that you will soon feel part of our community. We put significant importance on developing courses where employers are actively involved in course design and delivery. As a result of our emphasis on employability and transferable skills, our graduates gain good jobs quickly after graduating. Joining forces with employers, businesses, and research organisations, we give them access to the kind of people they are looking for: you. So we would encourage you to feel positive about studying in the UK and at the University of Suffolk and invite you to come and join us for a transformational experience, one which you will never forget and will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life.

Study Abroad and international opportunities The University sees the value of developing our staff and students as global citizens. The University has a number of established links with European, Australian, Canadian and other international partners through Study Abroad programmes and offers our students the opportunity to participate in outbound exchanges. The University is part of the UUK Stand Out campaign. Together with 90 HEI’s in the UK, we actively encourage our students to spend a period of their studies overseas and believe they will benefit greatly from their international experience by learning new skills, making lifelong friendships and becoming world citizens.
We believe studying abroad as part of the degree helps students in shaping their future professionally, academically and on a personal level. We recognise that the recent global pandemic places some restrictions on travel and we will continue to work with our international partners to prioritise the health and safety of our students alongside providing excellence in educational experience. In order to be eligible, students must have spent at least one academic year at the University of Suffolk, after which they can spend either one semester or one full academic year studying at one of our partner institutions worldwide. internationaladvice@uos.ac.uk
