GMC physics students test bridges
Maj. Clay McElheny’s senior physic’s classes recently studied the dynamics of bridge building. After weeks of study, the students built their own bridges out of balsa wood. They used their knowledge of structures and the math and physics associated with bridge building. Upon completion of the project, the students ‘tested’ their bridges by placing weight on it until its breaking point was reached. Some of them were really strong and well constructed.

JMA fifth-graders utilize SMART Board technology
John Milledge Academy fifth-graders used SMART Board technology to make their history presentations more interesting. Recently, Mrs. Bentley’s fifth grade American History classes taught their classmates about life in the United States. Each group was required to teach the class the material assigned, make a poster, and find a website to show and manipulate using the SMART Board Technology in the fifth grade classroom. The students were very successful, learned a lot, and had MUCH fun while accomplishing their goals.
