Hot Forging Manufacturers in India

Introduction About Forgings 

The forging is one type of the manufacturing process. In this manufacturing process involving the shaping of metal using localized compressive forces. According to the temperature there are two types of forgings process. One is Hot Forgings and second is cold Forgings.

What Is The Forging ? Forging is an established metal shaping process carried out by metal deformation.  In this process metal is heated on very high temperature to achieve consistency.  Once metal is melted down properly, it is filled into dies to gain needed shape. 

Forging Temperatures Usually forging components are manufactured at following three temperatures ✔ Cold forging ✔ Warm forging ✔ Hot forgings 

Cold Forgings Advantages & Disadvantages Advantages  Precision process & Improved parts strength  Best surface finish  Material conservation Disadvantages  High forming pressures  Numerous pre-forming steps required  Low Formability

Hot Forgings Advantages & Disadvantages Advantages  Low Forming pressure  Can forge complex shapes  Best formability Disadvantages  Formation of seale  Decreased accurancy

Warm Forgings Advantages & Disadvantages Advantages  Excellent formability  Lower Forming pressure  High deformation ratio  No annealing needed Disadvantages  High tooling costs  Tooling must withstand forming pressure

Forgings Process Cold forging, metals are shaped at room temperature only. In this Process utilized to from products using several dies.  It is suitable for little parts or components usually under 50 IB only.  Warm forging process is carried out at temperature between 800 to 1800 degrees  Hot forging process is carried out at relatively high temperature usually up to 2300 degrees. 

Forgings Comparison Cold forging is relatively inexpensive as compared hot forging techniques manufacturing process. Hot Forging Manufacturers in India prefer hot forging because of its end results.  However, it is not possible to carry out hot forging techniques when you are running with small budget.  During cold forging less heat energy is required and few metal is wasted as compared to hot forging technique. 
