objectiveS The International Master’s Degree in Conflictology allows professionals working in conflict-prone environments to complement and enhance their knowledge and skills in the areas of conflict management, resolution and transformation. At the end of the Master’s Degree, students will be able to: Analyse the characteristics of conflicts at different levels (from the international to the interpersonal level). Present key concepts and theories related to conflict management, resolution and transformation. Assess approaches and techniques for the management, resolution and transformation of conflict and their application to real cases (at different levels). Develop alternatives approaches and techniques – where appropriate. The International Master’s Degree in Conflictology is a UOCCertified Master’s Degree (awarded according to the rules and regulations set by the Spanish education system). Giving its specificity, it does not give general access to Doctoral studies (Ph.D. and similar). Validation of credits for access to such programmes can be requested from competent institutions. ADMISSION PROCESS The International Master’s Degree in Conflictology and related qualifications are aimed at professionals (civilian, military and police) working in conflict-prone environments, within the framework of international and regional organizations (United Nations, African Union, European Union – among others), as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations. Additionally, the Master’s Degree and related qualifications are open to graduate students*, young researchers and other academics interest in understanding conflicts and acquiring skills to address them. The objective of the admission process is to select students with the greatest potential and who can make a significant contribution to the learning experience. We seek candidates who are dynamic, motivated, creative, and who have not only an excellent academic background and/or professional experience, but also offer the kind of interpersonal skills that will allow them to obtain the maximum benefits from the programme.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS In order to be considered for the International Master’s Degree in Conflictology, candidates must be fluent in English, possess a valid passport or national identity cards and have completed an undergraduate degree. Same requirements apply for the other programmes, with the exception of the Diploma in Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding for which candidates do not need an undergraduate degree.

ADMISSION PROCESS Admission is granted on a rolling basis and – although there is no deadline for applications – early application is recommended given the limited number of places on the programme. Upon application, the Selection Committee will take roughly 2 - 3 weeks to review the file and provide applicants with a final decision. tuition fees and scholarships To foster diversity within the programmes, UNITAR and UOC award partial scholarships to talented students in need of financial aid based on merit, distinctive competencies and academic excellence. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, students must submit a letter in which they explain the reasons why they should be awarded the scholarship, as well as a copy of the last payslip. UNITAR and UOC are also establishing agreements with financial institutions around the world to offer students attractive loan packages to finance tuition. Finally, UNITAR and UOC provide information on scholarship offered by external institutions, such as national or local governments, foundations, non-profit organizations or professional associations. Please note that these scholarships are dependent on third parties, therefore we encourage to apply as soon as possible.
