JUNE 2017 CRAFT BREWS AND NEWS WELCOME BACK! We are so excited to announce that we will be bringing the wonderful beers from Deschutes Brewery to you guys starting in June. We will be carrying draft only until August so make sure you’re getting your kegs in the house as that’s the only way to get the good stuff. Our Deschutes friends will be hosting an education seminar at the United warehouse in HICKORY on Monday June 19th at 5:00. Food and beer will be provided of course. For more information about this, ask your sales person. All retailers are invited and encouraged to come. Well, that’s it for now. Have a wonderful June and we will see you back here soon. BEER DESCRIPTION A truly unique India Pale Ale, this iteration of our Jai Alai IPA boasts the addition of white oak spirals to impart sleek notes of vanilla, coconut and a touch of dill to Jai Alai's bold citrus and caramel character. The oak also serves to temper the bitterness in the 70 IBU base beer while oak tannins elegantly dry the beer's body to create a unique drinking experience that still remains true to Jai Alai's unique qualities.

In 1997, DuClaw Brewing Company Brewmaster, Jim Wagner, decided on a lark to age our award winning Barleywine, Devil’s Milk, in a Bourbon barrel. The resulting beer was so good that in 2012 the barrel-aged version was re-christened “Hell On Wood” and put into full production.

Hibiscus Gose is our version of an unusual, yet resurgent, beer style. It pays tribute to the pleasantly sour, slightly salty wheat beers that originated in Goslar and became popular in Leipzig, Germany around the late 1800’s. A great introductory sour beer, Hibiscus Gose receives coriander and sea salt during boiling, then we steep dried hibiscus flowers during whirlpooling to create a vibrant pink hue (really, though, it’s pink!). The result is a tangy, sweet and sour ale with a refreshing citrus character.

Sumo Danko vs. King Dragon Fish: Two men enter, one man leaves.
Sumo Danko hails from the backhills of Georgia, is feared and revered for his fists of fury, oversized sack of hops, low-grade narcolepsy, and a penchant for buggery. King Dragon Fish is a mountain dweller from TaHellYaRide, with an insane ability to break trees with his ankles, occasional bouts with gout and high altitude tommy boy foolishness; usually found face down.
The fighters strapped on their mawashis and laid the base for the brawl with 2-Row Wheat, Carapils, Oat Flakes and Rye – both Sumos anticipating a high alc 7.5% ABV encounter. Sensing hop superiority, Danko charged forward, slapping bellies with Dragon Fish, delivering a fresh wasabi chop that blew out his mawashi. The wasabi blast finished it off with a stinging euphoria that opened the Sumos’ senses, cleared their minds, and made them want to jump in for round two.
