The EMMECC NURSING Programme focuses on adult, geriatric and paediatric critically ill patients. It allows students to acquire a general background in the field of Emergency and Critical Care Nursing, with a progressive specialization in paediatrics, or adult and geriatrics. Moreover, specific aspects about the care of oncologic, postoperative or transplanted patients are included in the Master, and a new learning method will also be developed: simulation.
The EMMECC NURSING Programme is promoted by a consortium coordinated by the University of Oviedo (Spain) and counting with the partnership of the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences of Helsinki (Finland), the University of Algarve and the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (Portugal). All of our partners have an excellent background in nursing training in tight collaboration with local hospitals and have, therefore, jointly developed a clear picture of the real-life situation of their acute care units.
