First and foremost, let us express our gratitude to Allah S.W.T because of his mercy and grace, we are able to gather here today on the occasion of the 58th convocation of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. I believe this glorious occasion has a very strong and significant meaning to all graduates and parents.

QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS
I would also like to take advantage of this joyous occasion to congratulate UTM for its success in improving its performance status in the QS World University Rankings by faculty, whereby UTM is ranked 90th, and the QS World University Rankings by subject whereby 6 subjects are in the top 100 - Built Environment / Architectural, Engineering Chemistry, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Structural and Computer Science and Information Systems.

UTM AS A SUSTAINABLE GREEN CAMPUS
Congratulations to UTM for its continuous effort in maintaining a sustainable green campus, with its clean and safe natural environment, which provides a conducive culture for appreciation of knowledge. The recent initiative in promoting ‘Car Free Day’ is an excellent example of a sustainable campus. UTM should also ban the use of plastics and polystyrene in campus. However, these initiatives will not have any affect without the support of everyone in the UTM community, including students. WWW.UTM.MY
GRADUATES AS YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
I believe after the completion of your studies at the university, graduates are excited to put themselves in the new workplace era as young professionals. Therefore, I would like to advise you to work hard, be patient, transparent and trustworthy in exercising your duties. DEVELOPING SOFT SKILLS
In the meantime, make extra effort to continuously increase your knowledge and value-added skills such as communication especially in English, negotiation, strategic thinking and other skills which are very important to prepare yourself to face the current challenges of globalization. Do not be too complacent and satisfied in the "comfort zone".

SEEKING FOR OPPORTUNITIES
The world is enormous for you to explore. Do not set your limits to what you want to achieve. Seek opportunities anywhere, not only in this country. Challenge yourself to explore your potentials. Make the world the main stage for your personal performance and a measure of your excellence in the future. However, do not forget good manners and religious values, ethics, integrity and accountability as well as tolerance.

To graduates who have the intention to continue their education to a higher level, you are most welcomed to do so. Our country is in great need of the knowledgeable human capital development to continue to drive the nation. UTM soaring upwards, similarly, the Quran encourages continuous development of oneself, “To All are Degrees (or ranks) According to their Deeds" (Al-An'am: 132)
