Defining the Future of Heart and Vascular Care

The new Center for Advanced Heart & Vascular Care at UH Cleveland Medical Center brings together the highest level of diagnostic and surgical capabilities in an innovative care delivery system – one of the first of its kind in the world.

The center, which opened in Sept. 2019, co-locates a robotically operated cardiac catheterization lab and operating room with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cardiac computed tomography (CT) scanners.

This convergence of expertise and state-of-the-art technology advances patient safety and improves outcomes.

Patients of University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute receive the highest level of care from specialists who collaborate to provide individualized treatment and recovery plans. Life-saving therapies are offered by more than 1,700 heart and vascular experts at 26 convenient locations across Northeast Ohio.

World-renowned physicians and physician-scientists not only care for patients, but also devote time to developing the latest devices and procedures. With more than 140 cardiovascular clinical trials in 2019, UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute led all other hospitals in Ohio. UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute also leads the way in interventional cardiology. At UH, the region’s most experienced team in heart catheterizations performed approximately 20,000 procedures in 2019. Additionally, UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute hosted hundreds of physicians from across the country – and the globe – who learned how to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) from our physicians who are considered the world’s foremost experts on the procedure.
