Sara and Christopher Connor and the Minoff Family were honored with Samuel L. Mather Visionary Awards and Paula Silverman, MD, received the 2019 Distinguished Physician Award.

Sara and Chris Connor’s generosity and vision led to the creation and now the expansion of UH Connor Integrative Health Network. Their support is among the largest for integrative health and is positioning UH to be the nationally recognized model for clinical integration of evidence-based non-pharmacologic therapies. Chris is a member of the UH Board of Directors and Trustees and is the former UHHS board chair.

Sam Minoff, his late wife, Clare, and their children, Amy and Michael Southard, Barry Minoff and Roy Minoff, have been leaders in Cleveland for decades. Inspired to give back to the Cleveland community that has given them so much, the Minoff family is now among University Hospitals’ most generous donors. In recognition of their transformational gift, UH named the health center at Chagrin Highlands in Orange Village the UH Minoff Health Center. The Minoffs’ support creates a meaningful legacy for their family now and for generations to come.

Since retired, Paula N. Silverman, MD, was one of UH Seidman Cancer Center’s top breast cancer physicians, devoting time to exploring new treatment options and establishing clinical trials for breast cancer patients. A prolific lecturer and researcher, Dr. Silverman was a primary investigator in 35 clinical trials and authored 39 scholarly articles. In addition to leading the UH Seidman breast cancer program for many years, she was the Medical Director for Infusion Services at UH Seidman Cancer Center and the Chair of the Seidman Ambulatory Quality Committee.
