You will want a degree from the University with an excellent reputation both across the UK and overseas. The University of Manchester has a global reach and one of the highest number of on-campus postgraduate students at a research intensive university. At Manchester you’ll study with students from many countries and learn from leading teachers and scholars who are acknowledged international experts in their respective fields. I invite you to look at our five research beacons on the University web pages as an illustration of our commitment to combining excellent teaching alongside excellent research. You’ll develop skills and gain experience that will go beyond your master’s and be fundamental to your future career. I hope you enjoy the day and take the opportunity to speak to our current students to hear their experiences, and take some time to see some of our world-class facilities and resources on campus. Getting the most out of the open day We’re sure you’ll enjoy finding out more about the wealth of opportunities we offer. Do take the opportunity to talk to the people you meet at our open day, particularly admissions staff, academics and current students. They will give you a real insight into what life as a postgraduate student at The University Manchester is like, and will be happy to answer questions about our admissions process or life in Manchester more generally. Start your day with the student experience exhibition (12-1), which will give you the opportunity to engage with key support services at The University of Manchester, that will help you to make the most out of your studies. You will then move from the student experience exhibition to the welcome presentation (1-1:30pm), where you will learn more about what life as a postgraduate student at Manchester is like, including details of the teaching and learning environment, the nature of postgraduate study and the services, facilities and support available.
