BristolMoves+
Our primary aim for Bristol Moves+ is to support individuals with lower activity levels to be more active, more often, to improve physical and mental wellbeing.
The University licenses Moves+ from a thirdparty app developer, OpenPlay. The app is available for Apple and Android devices.
The University’s Sport, Exercise & Health Division launched Moves+ to students and staff for a Pilot Year in October 2022.
Bristol has joined a collective of UK Universities already successfully using Moves+, including Kings College London, Nottingham & Surrey.
HowMoves+works
Individuals download the Moves+ app, available via Apple or Android stores
Individuals link their preferred activity tracker to their Moves+ app
Users' track their walking, running, swimming or cycling activity, which is synced with Moves+
Users can take part in Challenges for bonus points
Moves+ awards points to users for activity completed and synced.
Users spend their points to redeem rewards, such as merchandise, treats or experiences.

To get the most out of Moves+, we recommend you join public groups that are aligned with you and your interests. Click here for guidance on creating your own private group.
Public - Managed by Moves+ HQ, we host exclusive challenges for group members.
Private - created by Moves+ users and managed by a group admin, private groups are for friends / colleagues to set joint goals and work toward towards them together.
REWARDS: Explore >Rewards
Reward availability varies: some are available year-round, and others are temporary.
Limits on the rewards exist to ensure fair play. You may only be able to redeem a specific quantity of each reward within a timeframe.
Read each reward description to understand the conditions of the reward before redeeming.
Please note that each year on the 31st July there is a scheduled global points reset at 23.59 hrs to enable a full service update.
All unspent points will be removed. Points accumulation will resume as normal from zero on the 1st August.

Visit the ‘Edit Profile’ link in the Profile tab and check your preferences. If you do not wish to receive the newsletter directly, you can also access the newsletters on our webpage.
How can I connect with other ‘Movers’?
Bristol Moves+ community group on Viva Engage is an online space for our Movers to connect and for those not currently registered, to find out more about the Moves+ app.
Join the group, introduce yourself, share your latest activity achievements, post your challenge selfies, and be bold by asking if anyone would like to join you for a lunchtime walk on campus.
