Frequently Asked Questions Are there resources to help prepare students for college? A special website is available for the parents and family of incoming UCF students at parents.sdes.ucf.edu.
What happens after students are admitted to UCF? Admitted students will be contacted about orientation dates and sent information to help them prepare for their first day at UCF. Students should keep up their grades in high school classes to maintain their admission status.
How can we find information about on-campus housing? The Department of Housing and Residence Life oversees all on-campus housing. Call 407.823.4663 or visit housing.ucf.edu.
Who do I contact for information or questions about Florida Bright Futures Scholarships? For anwers to specific eligibility questions call the toll-free Bright Futures hotline at 1.888.827.2004 or visit the website at floridastudentfinancialaid.org.

Where can students do laundry? Each residence hall on campus has laundry facilities.
What health services are provided on campus? The Health Center is a full-service health clinic with on-site professionals, X-ray capabilities, a pharmacy, a medical laboratory, physical therapy and dental services. The center provides low-cost medical care for UCF students. The 149,000-square-foot Recreation and Wellness Center provides fitness equipment, an indoor track and a threestory climbing wall.

The UCF Card is your student’s ID card and library card. It is used like a debit card for purchases on campus and at several UCF area restaurants. The UCF Card can also be used to get into student activities, such as UCF Athletics events, concerts and other programs.
Do students need a car on campus? No, UCF offers free shuttle services that provide safe and convenient transportation for students. 1. The on-campus shuttle service provides transportation to campus destination points so students have only a short distance to travel to classrooms or campus activities. 2. The off-campus service includes 15 residential communities, the Central Florida Research Park and conveniently located stops on campus. All shuttle buses are disabled-accessible. Visit Parking and Transportation Services online at parking.ucf.edu/shuttle for more information.
How can students purchase textbooks? Students can print out a copy of their class schedule and go to the UCF Bookstore located in the John T. Washington Center. Students can also purchase books online at ucf.bncollege.com.
What is SEPS? SEPS stands for Safe Escort Patrol Service, which is sponsored by the UCF Police Department. Students can call SEPS from Sunday to Thursday, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. for an escort to walk them to their car or on-campus destination.
