Imagine 250,000 people (and growing) in 24 countries working together to send care packages to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ryan Rust’s organization “Adopt a Hero” connects the generous with those far from home. I’ve always lived by the saying: If not you, then who? As an accomplished race car driver, Ryan has won 90 races. For me, racing comes down to fun, but it’s also the competition of it all.

Want to save gas money? Hop on one of our free shuttles, which pick up and drop off at several apartments off campus, all on-campus residences, throughout the main campus and Research Park, and in and around Orlando.

Going green? Use pedal power—and don’t worry about parking, we have 6,500 bike spaces. Our carpool service, Zimride, will help you find a travel buddy.

Meeting friends between classes? Take advantage of our newly expanded 149,000-square-foot Recreation and Wellness Center, where you can swim, play one of our intramural sports, climb a three-story rock climbing tower, run on the indoor track and test your endurance on a variety of cardio and weight machines. The center also offers dietary guidance and stress management seminars, among many other services.

Feeling under the weather? No need to venture off campus to find a doctor—you can see one for free (some exceptions apply) at the Health Center, where you can get vaccinations and prescriptions filled too. The center also has allergy and travel clinics, as well as a women’s clinic and a new dental center.

Need a place to live? With nearly 10,000 beds in on-campus and university-affiliated off-campus housing, there’s sure to be an option that suits you. All residential communities are a short walk from classes and are close to shops and restaurants. A free shuttle bus connects the campus to local apartments, so you are only a few minutes away from all the activities. For more information about living at UCF, visit housing.ucf.edu.

Rebecca Galarza has been visiting Central Florida’s playhouses since childhood. Now, she’s on the stage—and taking home world-class awards. Recently named Best Female Performer in the World by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, she knows the secret to success. My UCF professors taught me a strong work ethic. They immediately gave me the tools to go out and get jobs. You can also spot her on buses in Las Vegas and New York for her M&M’s campaign. There are a lot of connections and opportunities presented through UCF that are right here.

ure, you know about Disney, Universal and SeaWorld. But did you know Central Florida has 100-plus theme parks and attractions? There are also more than 5,000 restaurants and an array of beautiful beaches just a short drive away, making this area one of the top vacation destinations in the world.

As a UCF student, you can take advantage of all of this and more year-round. And you’ll never have to put on snow boots for any of it. In fact, our weather is so mild, you can usually wear shorts on Thanksgiving. Our sunny days are perfect for studying on the grass or by the Reflecting Pond. Orlando is not just theme parks. Our area has seen rapid growth and economic expansion as a center for the life sciences, medical innovation and technological developments. That’s why nearly 60 percent of our alumni stay in Central Florida to start their careers. More and more, Central Florida is becoming a Knight nation. It’s a great place to live, work and play. Will you be its next permanent resident?

Requirements UCF requires a minimum of 18 high school units to be considered for admission. Students must complete four years of English, four years of math (Algebra I and above), three years of science, three years of social studies, two years of the same foreign language (in sequence) and two academic electives. Meeting minimum requirements does not automatically guarantee admission. SAT scores are compiled using the highest critical reading and math sub scores from each test taken. ACT scores are based on the highest reported composite score. UCF operates on a rolling admissions basis. Students are generally notified of an admission decision three weeks after we receive all supporting official documents. A freshman applicant is a student with 11 or fewer credit hours of college course work after high school graduation. Admission to UCF is offered based upon a review of the high school academic record, quality and level of difficulty of courses, GPA, grade trends and SAT or ACT scores. Supporting documents like letters of recommendation and an essay can also be extremely useful.

UCF is ranked as one of the great educational values in the country.

Need-Based Financial Assistance These funds are awarded to students on the basis of their financial need. Awards can take the form of grants, which do not have to be repaid, work-study awards or low-interest loans.

Merit-Based Scholarship Assistance More than $350 million in merit and need-based assistance is awarded annually to UCF students. UCF awards more than $5 million in academic scholarships each year to new students from across the nation. More than 3,000 new freshmen and transfer students are awarded funds based upon outstanding academic achievement. UCF administers hundreds of other scholarship programs established by individuals and organizations to assist our students. Visit finaid.ucf.edu for scholarship listings, a free scholarship search and more information about financial assistance at UCF.
