ADMISSIONS

W

e encourage transfer students to apply as early as possible, as space is limited. By applying early, students may benefit from scholarship and housing availability, as well as a faster response time.

HOW TO APPLY

Apply online at admissions.ucf.edu. Be sure to submit the signature page and residency affidavit along with the nonrefundable $30 application fee. WHEN TO APPLY

Students can apply to UCF before they have received an A.A. or articulated A.S. degree. Applying one semester prior to your planned entry term will ease your transition, may provide you with an earlier decision, and will give you plenty of time to pursue registration, housing and financial aid opportunities. TRANSFER APPLICATION DEADLINE

Fall: July 1 Spring: Nov. 1 Summer: March 1 TRANSFER ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission is offered on a space-available basis, so apply early. UCF operates on rolling admissions. Students are typically notified of a decision within two to four weeks from the completion of their application. Applicants with less than 60 hours of completed college course work must submit official high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, and all college transcripts. (If an applicant has less than 60 hours of completed college course work, UCF freshman eligibility requirements must also be met.) Applicants with 60 or more semester hours of completed college course work must meet English and math requirements and fulfill the foreign language admissions requirement. After applying for admission, students who have earned an A.A. or articulated A.S. degree from a Florida public community/state college or university need only submit transcripts from each college attended. Students completing one of these degrees should apply one semester before their degree is awarded.

GPA REQUIREMENTS*

All transfer applicants must be in good academic standing at their home institution. Transfer applicants should have a minimum 2.0 GPA to be considered for admission. A higher GPA is strongly recommended to be competitive in our applicant pool. You must also have two years of one foreign language from high school or eight semester hours of college-level foreign language. Your overall academic GPA will be recalculated by UCF on all previous course work. In calculating this GPA, UCF recognizes a plus or minus grading system. Grade forgiveness is honored only if it has been awarded as part of an A.A. degree (or recognized A.S. degree program) from a Florida public community/state college or university. Some programs at UCF are designated as “limited access” or “restricted access.” Selective admission criteria are used to determine a student’s admissibility into these programs, and an additional application may be required. After you have been offered admission, you will receive a transfer summary report of accepted transfer credits. You must attend a one-day orientation program where you will meet with an academic adviser who will review your transferred course work and help you schedule classes. * Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

FINANCIAL

ASSISTANCE AND SCHOLARSHIPS More than $400 million in merit- and need-based assistance is awarded annually to UCF students. You must be admitted before being considered for financial assistance.

14-15

All students must file or renew the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for aid. Begin the financial aid application process in January and apply by the March 1 deadline. A number of scholarships are available to transfer students who have earned an A.A. degree from a Florida public community/state college. You can access scholarship and financial aid information at finaid.ucf.edu and admissions.ucf.edu/cost.
