WE ARE HERE

FOR YOU All UCF Housing communities have Resident Assistants (RAs) who help you make the most of your transition and experience at UCF. From campus resources to day-to-day events, your RA helps you with every facet of college life. Your RA takes the time to get to know you and helps you create connections within your community.

RESIDENT ASSISTANT

Ariana Hoyo MAJORS: Graphic Design and Advertising-Public Relations COMMUNITY: Libra Favorite thing about living on campus: I love the sense of community that oncampus housing creates. There’s always a smiling face or a friend steps away. Favorite RA memory: I delivered Dunkin’ Donuts to my residents. Seeing the excitement when I showed up to their door completely made my day. Advice to freshmen: Get involved! Whether it’s for your major or an intramural sport, getting involved will make your UCF experience memorable. Best takeaway: UCF is an incredible university where you’ll make some of the greatest memories. Take advantage of your time here and do what you love.

“ I like being a resourceful RA, one that can provide answers to questions residents may have. I also love being a comfort to students who may be homesick, and I try to make our floor their home away from home. I appreciate the opportunity to be a friend and mentor.” —Courtney Faherty, education major

HOUSING AND RESIDENCE LIFE

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS.

WE HAVE ANSWERS.

Q. A re first-year students guaranteed housing at UCF? A. There are more students who request housing than can be

accommodated, so it is very important to apply for housing as soon as you are offered admission. If the type of housing you request is full, we will give you the opportunity to switch to another type of UCF Housing based on availability. First-year housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q. W hat is the difference between an academic-year

EATING ON

A BUDGET Meal plans provide you options to get a fresh, healthy meal that’s affordable and within walking distance of on-campus housing. There are several meal plans available for students. We strongly encourage you to purchase a meal plan for the convenience, as well as to save money. With a meal plan, you can eat at ’63 South in Ferrell Commons and Knightro’s by the CFE Arena. You’ll also be given dining dollars to use at other on-campus eateries such as Chick-fil-A, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Java City and more.

(fall/spring) agreement and a year-round (fall/spring/ summer) agreement?

A. This is one of the first decisions you will make. Students who

choose an academic-year agreement will live in their assigned room for Fall 2016 and Spring 2017, leaving during the winter break. Residents of the Rosen College Apartments will also have this type of agreement but are not required to leave during the winter break. Students who choose The Towers or NorthView will sign a yearround agreement for Fall 2016, Spring 2017 and Summer 2017 — never having to leave during their agreement.

Q. Where can I get more information on housing rates and options?

A. Up-to-date housing information is available at housing.ucf.edu. Rates are subject to change.

Q. Can I bring my car to campus? A. It’s not necessary to have a car at UCF, but parking is available

for students living on campus. A shuttle system is available and serves the on- and off-campus apartment complexes. Parking information is available at parking.ucf.edu.

Q. Are housing tours available? A. Yes. Daily housing tours of multiple communities are provided Monday through Friday, except on holidays. Details on inperson tours and video tours can be found at housing.ucf. edu/tours. You may also submit a request online for tours in Spanish.
