Starting university is an exciting time and the residential experience is a huge part of university life.
Living in a university residence enables you to meet a diverse range of people from different backgrounds and cultures, studying a variety of programmes, allowing you to make friends straight away.
Everyone has different requirements and we offer a wide range of accommodation to suit all tastes.
Our residences vary in style, size, standard and budget. Please see our 2023/24 price guide at the back of the guide. Our accommodation is situated either on the University campus or in a number of attractive locations around the historic and vibrant city of Exeter (see our map of residences on the back page).
Each residence is a welcoming community with its own distinctive character, offering a safe and secure environment in which you can socialise, study and relax. Depending on the volume of applications we receive, it may be necessary for us to source additional accommodation in the city, which may not previously have been advertised. The University of Exeter continually invests in its properties to provide new facilities and upgrade existing ones. Work is carefully programmed to avoid disruption to students, particularly during exam periods. However, on occasion there may be some unavoidable disturbance or inconvenience to students. We will notify you in advance of any significant building works which are in close proximity to your residence and further details will be made available on our website.
We are proposing to build the new West Park student residences on our Streatham Campus in the area between Holland Hall and Birks Grange Village. The construction work is proposed to start in summer 2023 and we expect the first phase of the accommodation to complete by summer 2025. Holland Hall and Mardon Hall are in close proximity to the construction area. The University will take all reasonable steps to make sure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
We are proposing to refurbish Birks Grange blocks A-E to create modern, self-catered accommodation and construct a new student residences block where the existing reception and dining hall is currently located. The construction work is expected to start from July 2024.
For more information on the proposed developments, please visit: exeter.ac.uk/westpark
