Fire safety in your home and other buildings n If you hear a fire alarm leave the building immediately and don’t go back in until it is safe to do so n Make yourself aware of the way out of the building and don’t obstruct doors or corridors. Do not wedge open fire doors n Never remove or cover your smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm n Be careful when cooking and don’t leave cooking appliances unattended. n Check your contract for any do’s and don’ts like smoking, vaping and candles n Extension leads generate heat so should be used carefully. Do not overload sockets n Charge your devices on a hard surface and never on a carpet, chair or bed n Don’t cook if you hve been drinking alcohol, especially late at night n It is not safe to cook when you have been drinking alcohol n Contact your landlord if you have any fire safety concerns
