The University Sport and Fitness Department are known on campus as Team Hud. They are responsible for developing services and activities for sport, fitness and health, alongside operating the excellent facilities day to day.
Wellbeing Services can provide help and support if you’re finding it difficult to balance your studies, social life and personal commitments. They offer confidential one-to-one support, a range of workshops and groups, and comprehensive online support systems to help you manage your wellbeing and get back on track with your studies. Disability Services provides tailored support to students with disabilities. This includes disabilities such as visual or hearing impairments, specific learning difficulties, mental health difficulties and long term medical conditions. The experienced team work alongside you on a one-to-one basis to get the right support in place at the right time, and can support you in applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance.
In the heart of the Campus you can find a large air conditioned Fitness Centre with a wide range of Technogym Artis equipment. You will also find a Performance Suite with lifting platforms and additional free weights. The Sports Hall has 8 courts and is the venue for a wide range of sport and recreational activities. The group exercise studios host over 70 fitness classes per week. Please pop down and view the facilities for yourself, we are located on Level 3 of Student Central.
The Faith Centre is open to all students and staff and provides rooms for worship, meditation and prayer with ablution facilities.

Library Our Library is pretty special. It contains over 1,200 study places and over 530 ultra modern PCs and Macs. There’s a huge number of books and journal articles for you to make use of, around 330,000 in print form and several million in digital format. The Library is open seven days a week during term-time and round the clock for a good chunk of the year, plus one of our computer labs is open 24 hours a day all year round. Library tours will run throughout the day and will last no longer than 20 minutes.

Headstart Huddersfield The Headstart Huddersfield scheme has been designed to help provide fairer access for groups who are currently facing barriers and are therefore underrepresented in Higher Education. The scheme offers eligible students, who are interested in applying to the University of Huddersfield, the opportunity to gain eight extra UCAS points.
