From fuel and clothing to pharmaceuticals and phones, chemistry helps make our modern everyday lives possible. Chemical engineering delves into how chemical reactions can be scaled up for industrial manufacturing. This course gives you the chance to become fluent in both areas of chemistry and chemical engineering and set yourself up for career opportunities in a wide range of industries that rely upon the ability to integrate both disciplines.

You’ll be taught by academics in specialist areas of chemical engineering and chemistry who are all educated to doctoral level in their subjects and involved in forward-thinking research. This ensures we keep our courses challenging, exciting and thought-provoking.

What’s more, in our chemical sciences labs you’ll have the opportunity to learn using the kind of instruments used in industry. There’s also an optional work placement in Year 3, to help stand you in good stead for your future career.
