This course is primarily aimed at those working either within the education and training sector or related areas including health, careers and the uniformed services looking to further their professional knowledge and skills.

The course is primarily delivered via an innovative ‘blended learning’ style which combines face-to-face Saturday day schools and creative on line activities with both individual and collaborative study. Your practice is the starting point to help strengthen your confidence in critical debate, enterprise in leading ideas, ability to influence policy and in developing your digital and academic scholarship. This course promotes adaptability, skills and knowledge, essential within rapidly changing professional contexts.

Your future

Successful completion of the course will support students in progressing to more senior roles within education. Graduates from the course may consider pursuing further study, including a teacher training qualification such as a PGCE. We also have a suite of Master’s programmes in Education, including Education (Teaching and Learning) MA, Education (Leadership and Management) MA and more. Graduates may also be interested in pursuing a postgraduate research Master’s, such as our Education (MA by Research).

Entry requirements:

You will normally have either a Cert Ed/level 5 teaching/ training/education qualification or a foundation degree.

Candidates not meeting the above academic requirements but who are able to demonstrate significant and relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Additional criteria: At least two years teaching or training experience.

You will currently be working in an educational or training role.

Professionally this course has been the best thing I have ever done. I was told this course would give me a voice, credentials, knowledge and help me to articulate. Without a shadow of a doubt, the course has done that and much more for me. It really has raised my profile and given me a new found confidence in my teaching practice.
