The courses in Events, Hospitality and Tourism Management help to equip you with the knowledge and skills required for an exciting and challenging career in one of the world’s largest industries. In all three areas hands-on practical experience is paramount to the learning experience. Events Management students get the opportunity to volunteer on a range of high profile local and national events such as the Conference and Hospitality Show and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival.

You’ll have the opportunity to apply for a year-long paid work placement, an integral part of our courses that provides you with the opportunity to develop your management skills within event, hospitality and tourism organisations. We have placement opportunities locally, nationally and in some cases internationally in countries such as America, Canada and across Europe.

Graduates from these courses may find themselves working in general management; event and conference management positions in hotels, restaurants and leisure businesses; or worldwide travel and Hospitality students take part in tour operators. Events Management BA(Hons)

Events management requires meticulous planning, decision-making, logistics and pinpoint accuracy if it’s to be a commercial success. Event management involves studying the intricacies of the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually implementing all your planning and hard work to deliver the final event. This course covers themes such as creative thinking, business management, venue selection, provision of catering, public and crowd management, human resource management, risk mitigation, how to obtain sponsorship and fund events. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in the use of technology used to stage events, marketing and media relations. Throughout your time on the course you may have opportunities to attend field

This course is designed to equip you with the necessary academic and practical skills to work in this dynamic, challenging and global industry.
