F A C I L I T I E S The Barbara Hepworth Building offers high-end facilities, workshops and flexible studio spaces. The building has been designed with productivity, workflow, collaboration and interdisciplinarity in mind, creating environments that foster experimentation and provide you with the opportunity to realise your ideas and designs. The multifunctional central atrium space is circled with resources and facilities, which range from our Digital Print Centre to woodworking and laser cutting facilities. It provides the potential for open lectures, events and exhibitions together with performance and conference spaces. A highly skilled and experienced team of technical staff support the wide range of activities across specialisms such as knitting and weaving, embroidery, printing, reprographics, audio visual production and 3D design.
Create Lab The Create Lab brings innovative visualisation to the School of Arts and Humanities. Students can benefit from the potential of developing and prototyping 3D models in an immersive VR environment, together with having the space and facility to experiment with emergent visualisation technology. The Create Lab enables students to showcase their work digitally, in a controlled environment, with opportunities for collaborative learning and state-of-the-art motion capture.
