Acampus where you feel good
I wanted to study at the University of Jyväskylä because I had heard so much good about the Department of Teacher Education. Our education is respected internationally and the approach here is fresh.
For the wellbeing of students, it is essential that they are taken into account comprehensively. In addition to high-quality teaching, we have great sports opportunities, functional health care and a comfortable campus. I feel happy every time I walk on the campus.
Teachers are genuinely interested in how we are doing. They pay attention that we have everything in order. Each department has a named student support person, a Goodie, with whom you can discuss about almost anything confidentially.
In Jyväskylä, it is great that most students come from somewhere else. The university ensures that the start of studies goes well and everyone feels safe. Here it is easy to find your place in the university community. Teaching is interactive and it also includes contact teaching in addition to lectures. Studying is much nicer when you don’t need to work alone.
In the subject association, we cooperate closely with the staff of the department. The students are heard and we are able to influence matters that concern our education. One way to improve students’ wellbeing further would be to invest in study psychologist services.
At JYU, students are cared and looked after. The university is genuinely interested in our wellbeing and the student perspective.
STRATEGIC GOAL
