At UK, we are focused on student success. We have dozens of resources to help you throughout your college career. Utilizing these resources will enhance your college experience and make your time at UK better.

Disability Resource Center

• Partners with qualified students with disabilities to assist them in gaining equal access to institutional programs and services consistent with their unique needs

• Students with disabilities, chronic health problems, or dietary restrictions should contact the

DRC for information about services, academic accommodations, and disability documentation guidelines

• Seeks to advocate the needs of students with disabilities to the campus community through consultation and outreach efforts with administration, faculty, students, and University partners

University Health Service

• Student source for health care including primary care and internal medicine (including gynecology and transgender care), psychiatry, sports medicine, occupational medicine and nursing care such as allergy injections, immunizations and TB testing

• Our doctors are board certified in family practice, internal medicine, psychiatry, emergency medicine, sports medicine and occupational medicine; nurse practitioners have certifications in family medicine, women’s health and psychiatry

• Office visits are free with payment of your student fees; insurance is needed for labs/x-rays or referral to specialists

• Telehealth and in-clinic visits are available

• UKCC offers confidential, short-term therapy to support students’ growth and to assist students with mental health, academic, or personal concerns that may interfere with academic performance or a sense of personal well-being while at UK

Veterans Resource Center

• The Veterans Resource Center was established to support UK’s military connected students, by providing them with service and assistance

• The VRC works in collaboration with other student service offices to ensure that the transition to UK is as smooth as possible with the common goal of helping our military connected students accomplish their academic mission

• UK has an active student veteran organization composed of student veterans dedicated to the recruitment, education, and support of all military connected students attending the University

MLK Center

uky.edu/mlkc 859-257-4130 The Martin Luther King Center seeks to empower UK students from ALL communities to improve their college experience by increasing access to academic, civic leadership and cultural exchange opportunities. The Center assists in the cultivation of events on campus, which promote diversity awareness, cultural pride and collaborative efforts between recognized student organizations of seemingly distinct interests. We seek to provide a culture of civic dialogue and a campuswide “brave space” for students to develop their cultural identity without fear of harassment and with the support of others striving to do the same.

First Generation

uky.edu/firstgeneration 859-257-6597 First-Generation Student Advising supports first-generation students (neither parent or guardian has a four-year degree) from recruitment to graduation through research-based programs, resources, best practices and campuswide advocacy about the needs of students who are the first in their families to go to college. Advisors work with first-generation students within their colleges and collaborate with other campus offices to provide the best resources to promote the success of first- generation students at UK.
