LOUISIANA

Monroe, total population of 49,529, is the eighth-largest city in the state of Louisiana. It is the parish seat of Ouachita Parish. With year-round hunting, fishing, golf, and countless other opportunities for outdoor recreation, it is easy to see why Louisiana’s nickname is “Sportsman’s Paradise.”

Since 1931, the University of Louisiana Monroe has been the setting of students in pursuit of excellence. Its campus spans over 200 acres of pecan orchards, green fields, and the beautiful Bayou DeSiard. From its inception, ULM has sought to serve the educational needs and desires of all people. The University prides itself on continually exceeding boundaries through innovation and inclusion, and is well positioned to continue a strong tradition of greatness in the future.
