Student success stories
Rebecca
Master of Marketing, 2013
With a passion for the creative arts and an undergraduate degree in communication, Bec kickstarted her career in marketing. She pursued postgraduate study to validate her hands-on experience and take her career to the next level.
“The Master of Marketing was very complementary to my role at the time and helped forge a new career path upon my completion – giving me the confidence to start my own business as a specialist marketing consultant to the arts and creative industries. As well as getting the prestigious degree and the sense of accomplishment that comes with that,
I made many connections in the local business community through the overlap of Master of
Business Administration (MBA) programs and gained confidence in my own skills and abilities.”
Sam
Master of Teaching (Secondary), 2021
Like many, Sam was not entirely sure what he wanted to do when he finished high school. After completing a law degree Sam realised that he wasn’t working in his dream job, so turned to postgraduate study to pursue his next career path.
“The length of the program at Newcastle was the main drawcard. I know that while there were important aspects of teaching that needed to be acquired through study, most of the skills were learnt on the job, and this was my chance to get there as soon as I could. It was knowing that I can be out of the office and into teaching within a year and a half (four Trimesters).”
