Thank you for joining us today for your Offer Holder Day. We hope that today will give you a flavour of what life is like as an undergraduate student here at the University of Salford and that it answers any questions you might have. Please find below an overview of what’s happening today. If you have any questions, please have a chat with any of the team at the check-in desk or information point. Our friendly student ambassadors are also happy to help.

Lunch break

Lunch will be arriving at around 11:45 and will be served until 13:45, giving you time to attend all the optional morning sessions. Lunch includes halal and vegan options or, if you’d prefer to find an alternative, there are several restaurants, cafés, and the student shop serving hot and cold food.

Afternoon sessions

13:15 – Life at Salford Talk

We realise it’s a little quirky to have this in the middle of the day rather than first thing, but as the morning is optional, it’s the first time the whole group will be together. You will have the opportunity to hear from one of our current students and find out more about their student experience

14:00 – Course sessions

At the end of the Life at Salford Talk we’ll divide you into groups and take you over to your course session. All course sessions will take on our Frederick Road campus.

Most course sessions will last around two hours, with some continuing a little later depending on the type of activity you’re doing. Most sessions will include a refreshment break. Parents, carers and supporters are welcome to stay with applicants for the session or have a wander round campus and grill us with any burning questions. We will have a base for the afternoon over at Frederick Road so do pop in if we can help with anything after your course session.

Ramadan

We know that some of our visitors will be observing Ramadan, and it’s absolutely fine if you need to join a session late or leave early. Our Faith Centre will be open for lunchtime prayers, and we have several prayer and Wudu rooms that you can use throughout the day. We are providing catering for all visitors, but if you would prefer to collect a lunch voucher and take away some food with you, you are welcome to. Please speak to a member of the team for further information

I have more questions!

We hope you’ve enjoyed your day! When you get home, if more questions spring to mind then please contact the Recruitment Team on 0161 295 4545 or enquiries@salford.ac.uk. We’re happy to help.
