WHO IS THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF SAN DIEGO?
The Catholic Community Foundation of San Diego is an independent 501 (c)(3) charitable corporation and an autonomous pious foundation committed to raising, managing and distributing charitable funds to meet the spiritual, educational and social needs of our San Diego community. Fully endorsed by the Diocese of San Diego and its bishop, we work extensively with Catholic parishes, schools and ministries to help secure the resources needed to further their long-term goals and sustain their mission.

To be the recognized leader of Catholic philanthropy in San Diego and Imperial counties, whose trusted stewardship satisfies our donors’ intentions while meeting the needs of our community.
OUR MISSION:
Our Mission is to receive, manage, safeguard and grow the investments that are provided to us while we support organizations that are approved by our donors and are carrying out the greater mission of our Catholic faith.

Our values are to: abide by Catholic principles, uphold the highest ethical standards, lead responsibly, respect our donors’ intent, manage resources efficiently and effectively, provide transparency and accountability, and serve professionally.
FINANCIAL REPORTING CCFSD has been entrusted with over $80 million in charitable assets since 2015. The Foundation is committed to operating with the highest standards for accounting, investments, and client services. As part of our fiduciary responsibility, and as stewards to these assets, our team is committed to providing responsible financial reporting. CCFSD undergoes an annual financial audit as well as prepares an annual Federal Tax Form 990 as part of our effort to maintain complete transparency. As of year-end 2020, CCFSD stewards 175 funds, 80 of which are permanent endowment funds that will support our beloved Catholic institutions for generations to come. The Foundation also offers other types of funds such as Donor Advised Funds, Non-Endowed Family Memorial Funds, and many other personalized charitable giving options.

The Foundation has granted 498 grants totaling $14.3 million as of year-end 2020. We have benefited 153 organizations, 92% of which were Catholic and 96% of which directly benefited the San Diego and Imperial communities.
