Join us for Grandparents’ Weekend! February 19-20, 2016 Join us at USD’s 12th annual Grandparents’ Weekend! This is a time to celebrate you — the grandparents and families of USD students. The weekend is filled with exciting activities including a president’s welcome brunch, a San Diego Harbor Cruise, the second annual “Be True to Your School” party and auction and so much more. The USD campus is a beautiful place to enjoy with your student. We look forward to seeing you!
s w it h th e ir T h e W h ua glehtn e r, Eri ca ’ 13. G ra n d d a
“Twelve years ago, when Grandparents’ Weekend was established, it was for us, the extension of a long loving relationship with our granddaughters, Holly and Erica, who were living in the Washington D.C. area. Holly was our first granddaughter to attend USD in 2004 and it was then that we became aware that USD offers more than just an education. We were thrilled when her sister, Erica, followed her in 2012. Since education has become so very expensive, we grandparents have had to take up some of the costs. We do so lovingly because we can see the difference USD makes in the character of our young people. USD is truly an extension of not only education, but a moral and ethical lifestyle. I am so proud to have helped start our grandparents program, with the help of caring staff. We hope you will join us in this ongoing venture.” —Pat Whalen Founder of Grandparents’ Weekend and grandparent of Holly Whalen Clary ’08 and Erica Whalen ’13
